Scientists Release Study : Netphoria Viewers Likely To Years Prematurely

NEW YORK - Scientists have revealed their findings that show that in fact, Netphorian viewers are more suseptable to mental instability and acts of random violence.

The team of scientists posted under anonymous indentities, in order to prevent any knowledge of the study, hopefully remaining in a neutral position.

"We began this study around '98, shortly after the release of the smashing pumpkins' album ADORE. It was a pretty easy study, we posted around five times a day," said head in charge stastician Dorothy Manger, "eventually we had to rotate posts among different users," she told MSNBC, "the first person who we assigned the job was dissed and commited a murder/suicide after shortly beginning the task."

While the scientists put their lives at risk for the study, none others experienced any random acts of death or violence. "We had another member who was in charge of talking to members off the forum," another spokesperson said, "he is currently in a behavioral facility for schizophrenia, after hearing voices of several posters."

The groundbreaking study was not a suprise to people posting on the board. With thousands of users, and only a percantage active, most of them posting for months and years, the majority of first time posters were psychologically incapable of posting again.

Owner of the Netphorian forum, Andrew Pakula, had no comment on the matter. He posted an announcement discrediting the study, which suggested that a permanent closure may be best suited for the board, which stated, "This forum will not go quietly. While many of the posters on here may die prematurely, it may be a relief, not many of them buy the ad free version of the forum, and I haven't made shit in the past few years."

Though the monetary compensation may be a motivation for keeping the board open, it is claimed by the administrator that all proceeds go to server costs.

A poster who wished to remain anonymous in order to prevent "flaming" stated, "I don't have a credit card, well, I do, but it's been maxed out on internet porn. That's probably why there's so many godamm ads on the website, because the owner can't get the free net porn."

The survey has yet to be approved by the FDA, which may schedule the forum into Schedule I, along with other dangerous, addictive narcotics such as heroin and crack cocaine.

There has been no poll taken in the general forum to see the community's position, but it is believed that no posters will be interested in retiring from the forum.

If you or a loved one has problems with netphoria, please contact the local hospital immediately for your safety as well as others.
