I’m laughing because I thought for sure I would get really strong ratings for this new thread [New William Patrick Corgan Album: Cotillions], based on all the feedback I was getting. But I’m getting the same ratings I got back in the day, these kind of middling, muddling reviews that just won’t fucking say: “This is a fucking brilliant thread from a brilliant poster.” It’s always got to have a qualifier to it.

They're just government experimental aircraft's though, no aliens inside, but it's possible they were made from technology unknown to the public.

Rein him in, take the reins, etc.
The things you steer a horse with, not how you describe monarchs ruling over their people But don't worry, people misuse this so often that I'm sure it's becoming accepted usage, and that definitely doesn't bother me in the slighest |

If you try to pre-order the new record by the link on Corgan's new Instagram website you end up nowhere:

Hope of 500
Did his vinyl sell more copies than the CD at Corgan's previous records?
Shiny made its highest ranking in the vinyl charts, getting in the Top Ten. Pressed 500 copies of Shitartha and is happy now when selling 500 copies of a regular album on a still more frequent product like CD: Last edited by Corgan's Bluff : 11-09-2019 at 04:28 AM. |

you buy lossless files on a physical disc you have to listen to in the car when you certainly cannot appreciate the fact that it's not 320 kps mp3 pirated from the internet and burned to a CDR for free?

Yes, cause I usually only pay a tenner for them. I actually pay a tenner to avoid going thru all the hassle.

I know it's all about personal preference and what kind of “music playing device” you have in your possession that will influence what music format you choose to buy/not buy. But with a CD, you get lyrics/album art/liner notes/track annotations, half the price of vinyl, can play in a car, stereo, dvd/blu ray player etc, can rip to computer if needed, $upports the artist... It's the best of both worlds! This is the hill I will die on. Last edited by bright_doom : 11-09-2019 at 06:10 PM. |

I'll wait for the album posted on YouTube in High Resolution, to then make a quick download.
Corgan should press 666 CD's and 666 vinyls, with a cheaper price for the Shitharder-box, when ordering it too... |

Now I do 1000% agree that streaming is bullshit. I store all my mp3s locally so I don't have to rely on internet or record label contract bullshit or artist bullshit to listen. I'll die on that hill with you

Same. I have some 12,000 songs on my phone all backed up on a hard drive. Not risking my music going away.

They did an AMA back at the end if 2018. HQ audio (higher than 256kbps)? Right now we don’t have any plans for audio quality higher than 256kbps. Our deals would require us to charge more to stream FLAC, so at this point we are focused on improving performance rather than supporting lossless streaming. https://support.google.com/youtubemu...d/338369?hl=en HD video doesn't mean HD audio. I still occasionally buy CDs, especially Japan editions with additional tracks. I'll get a track in 16 bit lossless WAV/FLAC and/or hi-res if possible. If I can't find it digitally, I'll buy the CD. Ive had to do this with specific b-sides. I'll take a CD over vinyl as the only positive aspect of vinyl is large artwork. I tried vinyl for a little bit and gave up on it. The worst part is constantly getting up and having to change sides and records just to listen to an album. It completely ruins the listening experience. I like to put on an album from start to finish without any interruptions whatsoever. Plus, why would I want to take audio and add surface noise and pops and crackles? Most atudios work digitally now in 24 bit. Give me the cleanest and highest audio source possible. Now, with hi-res, it's like the artist handing you the file after being completed in the studio. Some folks, the way they get with vinyl, very self-masturbatory behavior. In the end, if you like vinyl, it's a preference and nothing to do with superior audio quality. How disgusting, 256kbps even only for premium subscribers:
"Right now if you stream at Normal quality, you are getting 128kbps AAC as your bitrate. For premium subscribers, we offer High quality which is 256kbps AAC. If you have flaky network connectivity or want to save data, you can switch to low quality which is 48kbps HE-AAC. 256kbps AAC is equivalent in audio quality to the 320kbps CBR mp3 that we had for GPM, but it uses less data." Once bought Lady Gaga's first album as a Japan-edition. Was pretty boring having then the opportunity to listen to some of the tracks still sounding much better (in their same original mixes) on the producer Rob Fusari's website. Since then I only get me some collector's stuff on CD and vinyl. Vinyl nowadays is only about nostalgia. Only in the eighties and early nineties it was the better possible medium for quality audio. |
