Rewatched Edge of Tomorrow again last night. IMO its an under rated sci fi film. The heavy use of practical fx helps. Tom Cruise plays an asshole, which works for him. I still think the ending is a bit too feel good, though.

you know what i hated most abt fury is how the gung ho ending made that entire incredibly unpleasant scene with the german women in the middle very pointless

i meab if they were all killed horrubly and quickly and the young kid survived with third degree burns...thats what i thought they were going for. they basically decide theyre all monsters that can never go back and be normal with a family (which ties back to the german women) and war is horrifying atrocity and horribly ki.d of cool at the same time. i thought tbats what fury was going for but it just lost it

could easily drop $100+ dollars in andrews' webstore grabbing dvd's. definitely interested in some of the sci-fi romance titles, not so much the trailer exploitation films.

Ginger Snaps 2
Much disappoint. More so because the 1st one is a classic Indy horror movie. Thin plot. Katherine Isabelle was the best thing about the original and she's virtually absent from the sequel. Only reason it gets any rating at all from me is that Tatiana Maslany is in it. 1/5 |

"Gayle Wells stars as a 60 year old woman who had her ear bit off by a pony when she was a child, so now she wears a plastic elf ear to cover up the damage. Her lover died of alcohol poisoning on a volleyball court. Now she talks to her plants and tells them to cut down on their drinking. She meets and falls in love with the cop who found her lover rotting by the net, and then with her dead lovers father. Unable to choose between them, she flips a coin.
A volleyball brought them together. A rape re-enactment tore them apart." |

The Robocop reboot is horrible
WTF does occupying Iran have to do with domestic policing? And why did they make Iran in the opening sequence look like a degraded Arab country? They're Persian. |
