thank fucking god, this is the worst store i have ever been to in my life. they never want to honor deals and try to weasel out of everything while chuckling like they are elitists or something. ever since those few stores closed a few months ago i've been waiting for the inevitable demise of mine so i can give huge smiles to every asshole i ever had to fight with while i buy all their shit at liquidation prices.
and what the FUCK is the deal with those gigantic recites? edit: nvm http://money.cnn.com/2009/01/16/news...ion=2009011611 Last edited by Floppy Nono : 01-16-2009 at 12:30 PM. |

In my experiences, Circuit City was waaaaaay better then Best Buy. They usually had better deals on the stuff I wanted and it attracted less of the unsavory types that I did not enjoy shopping near.
I'm not sad about it though. |

they JUST built and opened a new one in my town...
what a waste of money, eh? Hope it turns into something cool and my bf gets a good deal on a blueray player the one good thing I will say abuot Circuit City... Best Buy was running a ridiculous sale on these GPS units but they were sold out. My bf went over to Circuit City and they still had them for MSRP... my bf told them about Best Buy's price and the guy marked it down to that price (which was like 200 bucks cheaper) |

reason why circuit city's employees were so bad was because they fired a whole bunch of people making 10+ an hour and just replaced them with 7-8 an hour workers and they were assholes about giving raises.
But the board got a huge pay raise. Funny, that. |

that's because they're paid nothing and have no chance to get a raise for good work
I just covered this Mr. Meeks. Please pay attention to the teacher and sit up straight. |

I know sir and I appreciate you taking your time to explain this to us but shouldn't at least one store have an intelligent employee? I mean, speaking from a statistical point of view.

Perhaps the smart ones are busy avoiding customers in an attempt to destroy Circuit City from the inside?
Or perhaps during training everyone gets a partial lobotomy. Or perhaps they weed out free thinking intelligent individuals during training because they tend to argue with poor business choices and offer ideas. |

hey.... I used to have a job like that. Who knows why... but I still tried to do an awesome job. I need to learn the ways of underachieving.

I almost got a job there last summer! I attended one of their cattle calls, they gave me a second interview and made it sound like they had every intention of hiring me...and then they didn't. I never really figured out why.
The laptop I currently own (and am posting from) was a Circuit City Black Friday deal. I've found some great deals there...so I'm sad to see them go. But hey, time to get me a dirt-cheap Blu-Ray player! |

Are you also shutting down your operations in Canada?
* No, our Canadian operations will continue. They are not affected by the liquidation of Circuit City's U.S. operations. The Canadian operations employ approximately 3,000 associates. |
