What a lovely gift from Corgan! I'm very excited about this. And who cares that he has found some inspiration in tarot. That is Billy we're talking about after all, and stuff like that is hardly shocking. I'm gonna believe this is gonna rock until proven wrong. Now I just wonder if he's gonna go on tour again after the album is complete. I hope so!

Except for a couple of details, best possible announcement.
At the right time, too. I´d ALMOST lost all faith in the band. |

Ground-breaking-my-ass! In 2000, my favorite band the Smashing Pumpkins gave away their entire album, Machina II, for free on the internet.
Actually, though, I really like the idea of releasing one song at a time. It still has a feel of that subscription idea where you could get constant updates of the album's progress. And I like checking in on my Pumpkins world and there being something new to enjoy often! |

i'd be more excited if jimmy was a part of this.. but with yet another whole new band he's really stretching himself thin and i really don't see this being completed.

This actually sounds pretty awesome. Awesome in the sense that out of 44 songs at least a handful will pretty much have to be tolerable and I won't have to pay for them, not that I would ever consider paying for them anyway.
Cheers to you bolly corrigan. |

There is no way in hell I will ever, ever, say the name of this album out loud. Let's get used to using TbK right now and never speak its full nomenclature again.
TbK TbK TbK TbK TbK TbK TbK TbK TbK TbK TbK TbK TbK TbK TbK TbK TbK TbK Anyway... hmm. I guess I'll wait to hear the first song before judging. The "Fool's Journey" thing is fine; it's a common enough archetype and in many ways connects to Machina. To me it just means "This is a story about someone who leaves home, experiences things, and comes back to find both home and himself changed." Which applies to, like, a lot of stories. Plus, OMG, some tarot cards are numbered and the Fool is zero. (!!!) I guess I'll consider this a success if it flows like an album, beginning to end, and isn't just 44 singles. We shall see. |

I kept reading Teagarden, and thinking of Cat Stevens because of the background colour on that painting. Teargarden, huh? Sheesh, it's a pretty embarrassing album title, I hated telling people that zeitgeist was the album title, this is worse. Still incredibly enthused about the album though.

I bet Corgan was at some beer garden and someone told him he was turning it into a tear garden
I'm pretty meh about the name, I mean not even considering the misspelling which is pretty dumb. As far as lame and emo sounding goes, I can't really put it below mellon collie. |

So happy now, guys? Billy realized that we're all cheap bastards who wouldn't pay a cent for some lame ass video project or new album and he just moved on and gives it out for free.
I'd say that's a pretty cool gesture of William. |

Agreed. I signed on to Netphoria expecting a HUGE cry fest over the title. This is right on par with MCIS title wise. And my gosh, this is some REALLY great news. Wasn't expecting completely free but DAMN glad we're getting it! Nice Billy, nice!

I also am hoping that each EP has flow and isn't just singles, and then all EP's together make a good flow/story. And GASP...did Billy just stay true to the 44 song idea. Props BC

And why do you all spell it wrong already? It's Kaleidyscope.
The "dys" is like the greek word, suggesting something is wrong/bad. |
