really into semi-homemade-yet-financed-and-distributed comedy films written by working comics lately. its like - even if the movie is terrible, the script is usually pretty funny.

Grandmas boy is one of those very watchable cable comedies

if anyone is interested in gay cinema i would recommend michael. it was filmed in 1924 so it was rather subtle when it came to the subject but it pulled it off well i think. it's a very interesting and touching film

well, gotta make room for some mike love after that whole post-pet sounds meltdown huh!

& i don't neccesarily feel like surf's up is so great an album so much as it has the most great tracks after all the smile smiley smile wild hoonaaay nonsense i.e. 'til i die, feel flows, & of course that (help me out here, took of a fool) TITLE TRACK

one of my absolute favorite releases involving them is actually that "less known" comp they did a few years ago, warmth of the sun. choice, choice tracks on that, really good set of songs for a band who were never really about albums

aside from that, all summer long & today are pretty good as far as early albums go

Inside Out
I loved this. Scripting/storyline was a bit patchy but that's par for the course these days. 7/10

Deep in the Darkness
Stupid horror. Only worth it for Dean Stockwell. 4/10

Finally got around to Jurassic World. I would describe my experience thusly: I never expected it to be a better movie than it was, but my folly was misjudging how much I would enjoy watching that movie i'd envisaged. 5/10 but strictly for John Williams and CGI dinosaurs

Living in Oblivion

1995 movie about low-budget filmmaking, young-ish Steve Buscemi is golden.
hilarious at parts, few moments could be a 1:1 documentary, but besides Buscemi all crew characters are caricatures, it got annoying.
guess it's funnier for anyone outside this line of work.
6/10

You suck. It deserves a way better score.

Rumor has it that the character of Chad Palomino was based upon experiences of working with Brad Pitt.

Pitt? god damn haha, I'd believe it - the cast characters were just fine. the crew were caricatures - and for me, that's annoying to watch.

so no, 6/10 is not a bad rating, and it doesn't deserve more, either (besides Buscemi) - come fight me, Grieco!

If anybody ever does a movie about filmmakers with a stereotypical Eurotrash cunt amongst the production crew, I will know better than to brush the characterization aside as caricatured.

How did you like seeing a young Peter Dinklage in his first role, though?

What??? I haven't watched this since 1997ish...I had no idea. It blew my mind at the time because I was 17 and was riding my tarantino wave after previously believing that point break was a genuinely good movie.

No, but let's make it one.

Have you ever "moved in circles " with Steve Buscemi, pave?

I had no idea it was his first! by now I hesitate to praise Dinklage, either I get called a "GoT-idiot" or a "dwarf-fetishist." (I'm both, of course.)

I plan to. I ordered a customized vibrator with his face on it.

Seconds (1966)
I loved the cinematography of this film. The plot is intriguing too and poses several philosophical issues regarding materialism, identity, and free will; among others.
