Default new radiohead box set

this should all be a download. 4GB? that could be the industry's first artist sponsored torrent.

OK Computers, Are You Ready For Radiohead's Box Set?
2007-11-06 11:28:20.017,
Story by: Michael Gonzalez

For the first time in their illustrious career, the
complete studio works of Radiohead plus a live album
will be available to purchase as one collection.
Beginning December 10, Pablo Honey, The Bends, OK
Computer, Kid A, Amnesiac and Hail To The Thief, as
well as the live album I Might Be Wrong, will be
released in three different formats at the Radiohead
online store via their former label, EMI.

As a band that has always been at the forefront of new
options for their fans to obtain the music, Radiohead
has become the first band to reinvent the box set. One
of the three options includes a strictly limited
edition Radiohead USB Stick that is shaped to look
like their "bear head" logo and provides 4GB of the
music as CD-quality WAV files as well as the digital
artwork. The classic physical set will *******
exclusive digipack sleeves along with access to stream
footage via Digital Insert technology and the
digital-only catalog will be released as DRM-free
320kbps mp3 files. It's all about choice these days,
isn't it?

is it really a box set if it consists of 100% previously released material? and also doesn't come in a box?

It comes in a box. And since when does a boxset consist of unreleased material?

Also, this is all EMI's doing and obviously in response to In Rainbows.

No but they are clearly asking that all fans buy the boxset AND the $170 USB stick.

Vinyl would have made this so much more interesting. The notion of paying for mps files seems so ridiculous.

This seems to be a product with absolutely no market to me. Fans will already own the albums in some form, and all these albums (and in fact, a lot more Radiohead material already released but not included in this set) are readily available online as we speak. At least with In Rainbows it was new material, this shit has been available as free mps files for years. This just seems crazy to me.

Why not ******* In Rainbows since it's out already anyway?

I don't think I'd buy one, though.
