Pre-American Idiot Green Day was great.
Post-Warning Green Day is worthless commercialized trash.

There's a lot of marginalizing NIN on here. That's not OK. Really, all of NIN except for the first half of With Teeth is pure genius that you can't marginalize or write off because the "lyrics are immature".

Listen to La Mer and fuck off.

LOL. You need to listen to more music. Seriously.

There's a lot more to NIN than the cringe-worthy lyrics we post in large red text. And honestly there's nothing wrong with ineloquent, raw emotion sometimes. Beyond the lyrics though he has written some really beautiful stuff, La mer being a great example. He wrote that when he went to his house on the ocean to kill himself. Really beautiful stuff, no lyrics whatsoever.

Not once. I'm more embarrassed to still be posting here at age 35 than I am in admitting the fact that I think "Iesha" by Another Bad Creation was a decent song.

And everything just sounds right.

I can't tell you what it is about the last minute of The Line Begins to Blur that is so awesome. But it just is. And it's on the guy's worst album.

I mean I kind of came of age or whatever with it so I probably have an irrational attachment but I still love all of it a lot.

with teeth is definitely flawed, but i've grown to appreciate a lot of it. 'love is not enough' and 'every day is exactly the same' were the standouts in the first half. i only really cringe at 'you know what you are.'

I'd highly recommend you check out some live footage done by Rob Sheridan that are all over NIN's youtube/vimeo. Pretty intense stuff. Especially the handheld ones:

Nowadays I don't listen to the albums all that much, but I watch this shit all the time.
