haven't heard the album yet, but when i saw islaja a few weeks ago, her new songs sounded completely average/conventional compared to her old stuff. pretty disappointing actually. is the record like that?

I think for album of the year it's a three way tie between The Walkmen - Lisbon, Deftones - Diamond Eyes, and Interpol - Interpol.

No one here has mentioned the Walkmen at all. Kind of surprised.

Well, I just really though Gaffney's use of the clavichord was really inventive. It's his best record.
