Hurricane Dorian: the perfect opportunity for Billy to re-release Dorian.
The lyrics fit. He could sell more records and become popular again as a man of the people's plight. If he doesn't it will be an opportunity missed. This is his big moment! It's all falling into place perfectly! Come on Billy!

I don't mean to make light of the devastation but let's look at the bigger picture:
Billy is a fading bald rocker wallowing in a pit of irrelevance who in his golden vault of classics has dynamite; a ace in his arsenal which will blow his obsolete obscurity to smithereens; a weapon of mass of destruction if you will: That weapon? Dorian. Picture the scene: Dorian is re-released and dedicated to the disenchanted, the romantics and the victims of the latest storm surge. Meanwhile, whole families are lamenting their losses in the Bahamas, crying for a messiah to rectify the tragedy; a prophet who will put paid to their troubles and give them newfound hope for the future in a bleak wilderness of pain when suddenly...they look to the heavens... Flying first class on a high-powered jet and landing with the grace of a buttefly on a flower is that man: Billy Corgan, nineties icon, scribe and sage. Complete with his personal batch of make-up artists, cameramen and photographers in tow, snaps are taken, autographs signed, copies of Siddhartha given away to the nearest orphan. A surprise concert is announced. Billy stands atop the closest heap of rubble with his acoustic guitar and belts out the refrain of his new single; the crowd raise their candle lighters to the air and sway, singing in unison, "Dorian, Doooooriaaaaaaaann, Dooriann". The footage is relayed back to CNN headquarters and other news outlets. What could go wrong? |

That is a beautiful mind-picture you have painted, friend, but I want to know: where is Jack Bates in all this?

I can't tell if you're being serious, but if you are, he would have to do it as a charity release, otherwise this would be in extremely poor taste.
