Billy Corgan / Smashing Pumpkins acoustic guitar gear

I love the christal clear sparkling sound Billy's acoustic guitar playing has sometimes - does anyone here have any idea which strings he uses on his acoustic 6-strings?

After a long while I changed the strings on my acoustic guitar recently twice and was not happy with the new sound both times.

I found a lot about the guitars he uses, also a bit about the strings on electric guitars but nothing about the acoustic guitar stings.

the only thing I ever remember him saying about acoustic strings was that he had a guitar with really old rusty strings on which he recorded demos at his house. Stumbleine and another one, maybe Rotten Apples, were both recorded like this.

if you check out the front few pages of both the SD and MCIS guitar books i'm mostly sure he has a section on guitars, picks, strings, amps etc..

both of the pdf files are on satur9hub, if i'm not busy later i'll scan those few pages in and post it.

Thanks for the hint, checked both, and found in the MCIS one information I saw online before about the electric guitar strings, not about acoustic ones. No info in the SD book.

dood! dade! i use those exact picks, have been for like 10 yrs! but for electric, tho

don't use any picks for acoustic; picks just get in the way, man

Basically he wins with those fingers; can manhandle even the fattest neck of an acoustic

It would be beneficial for everyone if the OP embedded some acoustic youtube videos that explain what he was talking about.
