But if we don't make it illegal to be gay where does it stop
Next thing you know transgenders will be using the same bathrooms as YOUR daughters and that is a very dangerous road to go down imo |

Isn't this the whole secret agenda of supposed transgenders? using the girl's bathroom? Or taking showers with girls...

this is one of the least pressing issues to get upset about. And you know this when big corporations are boycotting Indiana since its a such low risk/low stakes way to build awareness PR. Ditto for my annoying FB friends who plaster my feed with No H8 shit and then are silent on any issue that requires conviction.

Mike Pence just embarrassed himself on this week. Props to George stephenipiuktllyls for pinning him down too. When you repeatedly ask a yes or no question and the person can't answer, that person has lost.
He should have just said "yes it is legal but it would be wrong." That's how you handle this. |

No one ever talks about gay kids. All this hand wringing about how kids shouldn't be taught that gay people are normal completely disregards the existence of gay kids. I was one goddamn it and it was hard. It was so hard.
So fuck you Julio. Fuck you. |

Sorry, but conservatives don't run all of these state legislatures because of gerrymandering. Maybe read some exit polls from the 2010 or 2014 elections to understand why. Regardless of how district lines are drawn, they all have to meet certain requirements regarding population size, etc. These guys were all elected fair and square by people who share their beliefs on issues likes this. I lived in Pence's district for 3 years when he was a congressman. The people there, in general, don't care much for gay people. Deal with it. If you can't deal with it, then go take a trip to some local rural Indiana establishments and tell those people why they are wrong for supporting this bill. Let me know how that goes.
Also, it's a bit early to be bitching about a law that isn't even law until July, and hasn't even yet produced any cases of possible discrimination to use as an example. How about a little "innocent, until proven guilty" here. On top of that, in the extreme cases where a business is refusing to do business with you because of their religious beliefs, go to a competitor that will. I can't think of hardly any industry these days where there aren't at least 2 business competing, even on a local level. I swear some people have to throw a hissy fit about everything. Give your business to someone or someplace that wants it and move on. |

Michigan voters have cast a majority of their votes for Democrats for State legislature and for the congressional delegation in each of the past 3 national elections. In 2014 the state House gap was by 70,000 more Democratic votes. Yet the GOP "majority" has grown.
Even more peculiar is that both Senators (including the one elected in 2014) are Dems who won handily. And the State has voted for the Dem presidential candidate in all of the last 6 Presidential elections. |

Also, if you look at the total votes cast for all of the current congress (total US) in DC the majority were for Dems. But there's a republican majority in the House.
If you look at the current "republican majority in the senate those Senators represent only 40% of the total population of the united States. Tyrant of the Minority. |

If the congress in DC was an accurate reflection of the will of the voters it wouldnt be controlled by the republican party.

The Congress in DC is not meant to reflect the will of the voters, nor is any other branch of the federal government. It's meant to reflect the will of the states, which it correctly does. That is why this is not called the United People of America or the People's Republic of America.
