i remember making fun of "cool" students who loved SP when adore came out. 13 years old at the time I said to them man Adore is fucking slow, what happened to them? where is BWBW type songs? and they agreed with me. back then it was all about mainstream success, and SP were that with big hits, but come adore they really opened the door, i didn't buy adore until 3 years later, i got a used CD off of EBAY which i still own, i loved it, remember crying at for martha, rollerblading while listening to the CD in my bulky panasonic discman. i love adore. thankyou billy for giving it to us

I'm listening to Adore Demos II right now. I can't believe how easily Adore went to Machina to MII... though if he wanted to save the band's career, he needed to go with MII, then MI, then Adore, because the huge change from MCIS to Adore was just not enough rock and too much touchy feely. He should've gone with the concept album first, after the semi-themed MCIS. IMHO anyway.

And Adore Demos II would've be a great segue from Machina I/II into Adore... then Billy's solo effort.

My favorite thing about Adore is the release of the LP in MONO.

I can't think of any reason that 17 has to be on the record. There's really no point.

I kind of like 17. I mean it can't really be appreciated or considered a real song, but I think I would actually miss its presence if it weren't there. Blank Page fades out, and then this little lilting piano pieces comes in and disappears. It just seems like a nice end to the album.
