HMM makes much much much more sense with Glass, Cash Car Star, and Dross. It always felt out of place on Machina

to clarify, I meant it's interesting that for the sequence of Speed Kills > In My Body > Saturnine > BSBT, all of those songs have a polished/electronic sort of vibe. I generally prefer the heavier versions of Speed Kills and BSBT and had forgotten about the cleaner ones (I think the cleaner Speed Kills is from the SIYL single while the MII version is less dream-like and more of an unpolished guitar ballad), but the polished/electronic ones fit into this sequence very nicely. And of course Saturnine has the floaty electronic version as well as the heavier one with the cymbals.

I am now convinced that had this collection been properly mastered and sequenced, it would have been much more successful. Damned shame

The metro show better be fucking released.. i think we would all prefer that over any new 'TSP' music. I'd also murder for soundboard quality of the pittsburgh 99 show i.e. SPEED KILLS

what makes you think that?
I'm good with this https://archive.org/details/tsp2000-12-02.baker

I don't care to have a better rec or video of that show, I'd take a new release over an upgrade any day.
besides Zwan live upgrades. and I'd take something like Stigmata Sessions or Chicago songs over the Metro show, too.

As for the Machina reissue - there were so many shows that sounded much better than the final one, I'd prefer any video compilation of a couple of shows as DVD before watching that final show.

Just a complete show would be good for starters and it's just epic it's the last TSP show and what over 4 hours long?

I realize a bunch of people want that show, but I'd honestly be disappointed if that's all for the Machina DVD reissue. final metro should be a separate release in my book.

I don't get anything out of full show video releases for the reissues, I'd prefer the best live versions 99-2000 of different shows, before watching an overly emotional gig that didn't sound too good.

Cat's Cradle is on my wishlist - for Speed Kills and at least 10 other songs.
Every time I listen to it I'd like to travel back in time and punch the audience. fantastic acoustic versions.

Ah wow awesome acoustic version!! Cheers.

One thing about why this is one of the finest bands ever...they rework songs and make them different and better. I think on the 2000 tour there was at least 3 different version of Today.. the slow acoustic piano one is just beautiful.

Hahaha when billy says ' love you too' everyone looses their shit.

I want the metro show, whether on its own or with the Machina set. Safe to say we'll at least get one live CD's (though I'd gladly take two) worth of material judging by past reissues, I'd wager sourced from Arising, and I could live with that plus the Metro DVD.

I just fucking hope whenever it comes out it's the whole performance.

I want a properly mixed Arising soundboard

I've heard rumors there were guitars during that tour

__

Metro would be baller but it's never gonna come out I feel

Or it'd be some nonsense where they edit out the banter and half the songs

A 4 hour bluray would be the only thing to do it justice

Was it filmed in 16:9?

Soundboard of Cat's Cradle would be amazing

Like the acoustic Double Door stuff on TAFH, it feels really cozy to listen to, like you're weathering the storm of the audience crap with the nice recording

It's weird how people don't know what song it is until he starts singing. Like he plays the I of the Mourning riff and it's fairly quiet, but people only start bleating when he sings the opening line.

Or 1979. Jimmy could play that all day and no one would cheer until the guitar comes in

I dunno why that bothers me

metro show will probably never come out.
4 hours of material is probably littered with mistakes.
in the moment it was probably fantastic. as a document to revisit repeatedly - billy is too much of a perfectionist to let that pass.

I mean, it truly was the last show of the golden era

Last show with James

Now that it's been 14 damn years it'd be weird and sort of hypocritical for Billy to release the 'last' show.

They'd probably edit the mistakes to some level. Like the Brixton show they cut out the false start of Tonight. They'll probably cut out the beginning thing where MCIS kept playing over the PA, even though that was cool

because people are fucking stupid

how are fans completely unaware of the fact that they're going to be playing Bullet With Butterfly Wings when they've opened it with that same primal drumbeat for nearly 20 years now

same thing for like Depeche concerts or pretty much any other band, you know it's going to be Walking in My Shoes, why act suddenly surprised when the strings come in

Also the tribal intro to BWBW and the intro to Stand Inside Your Love are quite similar. It's fooled me at least once.

they don't really seem to catch on by the bassline either

must be nice to not have a schedule crowded with typing the words "dropped consonants" & be able to actually go to shows

it will be paired up with D4N just like how monuments paired with adore, oceania paired with mcis/tafh (can't remember which), TGBK with siamese dream or pisces, etc
