Default Why don't the Chili peppers get more love here?

Despite Anthony Keidis' stupidity, the band has really made a lot of great songs that are well written instrumentally and pretty creative under the pop-construct.

Flea and John Frusciante are both at the top of their class as far as creativity goes and Chad Smith is a really solid drummer... Keidis is an imbecile, but some of his melodies are pretty fantastic.

I guess I'm just surprised that RHCP is so revolted by SP fans.

They're shit and a shallow copy of Fishbone who I don't like either but I guess if you're gonna listen to something like that then listen to FIshbone.

Feel free to add this to my own shit-pile thread, but just listen to the instrumentation of the group in this song at the 3 minute mark- JF's guitar playing and the groove Flea and Chad have just gives me goosebumps

I just love when Flea and JF lock right in. I love the outro of easily because Flea and CS are just locked in and theres Frusciante going off with like 3 different guitar tracks going on simultaneously-just playing his simple, emotional picking.

RHCP has a bunch of crap, but they have some really great moments/songs too. They managed to put out a classic album in 2000... No other 90's bands have done so, arguably Radiohead maybe.

I'm with you (pun intended) fuzzy, RHCP are a great band with a lot of great music.

They're one of those bands with a discography I can get deep into for weeks at a time.

I strongly believe that if RHCP gives you goose bumps then your music collection consists of a few "Best of" collections, 1 Tool album, Radiohead albums up to Kid A and a reggae compilation (because you listen to all kinds of music)

i mean you could have a pretty sizable collection & still note the band as one of the most solid, perfectly interlocking group of rock fellas with instruments in the past 20 years or so

If your criteria for "great band" is "they can tune their instruments", "can play in time" then sure they're great I suppose.

Didnt RHCP get Faith No More kicked off a tour or festival ?

Imagine that "sorry guys you dont get to see Faith No More now because Anthony Kleidis doesn't like them but hey look on the bright side you get to see RHCP"
