[rec], Sinister, Mama, The Conjuring.

Audition is not exactly scary, but it's super disturbing.

And those as well.... sinister caused me to keep my blinds closed at night for a long time. Across the road there are a bunch of pine trees and I kept thinking I would look over there one night and see that face

I haven't seen Rec, so I might give it a try tonight..

I liked the Babadook. Here are a few mostly indie no gore horror movies that I liked a lot:

Honeymoon
The Tall Man
Oculus
Haunter
Contracted
Dark Skies
Mr Jones
Dream House (with Daniel Craig)
The One I Love (not really horror but strange)

If you don't mind Harry Potter in a horror movie "Horns" is actually not bad

avoided Sinister until now, but if I can do Babadook and You're Next, I thought I give it a try.

Only two minutes in - sold. the title sequence with the guys hanging from the tree? beauty. and the first cop is The Wire's Ziggy!

the cast of The Wire is kinda stuck for me as just that. each one except Elba, thanks to Luther.

Forgot what it was, either tv series or movie I recently watched, new character comes along, and my brain instantly goes - that's Daniels! (it was The Guest.)

same with Bubbles, he's in the Hand of God pilot, and all I could think was - this suit is all wrong.

Kima, I've never seen her again. but looking at imdb she's still busy, I just don't watch any of the shows she's been on - body of proof and such.

and all the younglings from the towers? some of them were amazing actors, but it's possible I just haven't recognized them.

oh Bunk is on Ray Donovan, meant to give that one a go.

watched a dozen giuseppe andrews films over the past week with more on the way. looking to eventually obtain all the pre-2010 releases. a couple more orders should do it. gotta hawk some more toys on ebay first.

these films are just unbelievable. the troma features aren't the greatest compared to others, but each one comes with another bonus movie or a collection of shorts that is much better than the the feature. you can pick these up on ebay for 5- $7 each shipped.

touch me in the morning comes with "after school specials" 3 20 minute shorts
trailer town gives you "who flung poo" feature length movie (recommended)
period piece gives you "jacuzzi rooms" feature length cinema verite (highest wtf factor)

it's been a while since i've watched a horror movie but i might actually put on conjuring tonight if i don't piss my pants in horrified aniticipation beforehand

saw birdman last night pretty spur-of-the-moment, enjoyed it a lot & disagree with the other poster's evaluation of it being entirely about the "quest to be regarded as a serious artist." more like making peace with past successes or failures, your family, your life, etc. & then finding success through the catharsis of it all basically. that's still pretty simplistic-sounding i guess but what can ya do after 1 viewing

& i mighta even missed the first few seconds, had to grab the papcarn

88 - 2/5

Kind of a bad movie with an interesting premise. It does have Katharine Isabelle shooting a few people and pouring milk all over herself, though.

straight to video release made for little to no money would make a huge return just selling it to basement dwellers and shut-ins and children

that reminds me, i saw a CALL OF DUTY jeep the other day. either this guy customized it himself or he won a contest or something. maybe jeep made a limited edition video game model? so many questions - it was fucked.

i saw that and thought it was just another garbage horror film

¯\_(ツ)_/¯

but i don't know i don't like how modern horror is all so... gimmicky. Scary looking children, and this creature we ran through test groups a few times to see what people would find creepiest. They just feel like all the same to me. they all just run together in my head.
