How has loving Fight Club not found its place within his endless pursuit of relatability?

i hate it and actively try to disengage it sometimes but the mind is biased. it's hard.
imo the best way to watch a movie is when you know absolutely nothing about it, and it just comes on the tv.

since i don't have cable anymore that's not possible so i have to pick my own movies, but i do try to know as little about them as i can, save for small details like who's the director or who's the lead or a very vague outline of what it's about.

i really recommend you give it another shot. don't get me wrong - i can totally get how a movie like that could disappoint an eager viewer, but it's easily one of my all time favorite movies. seriously just mind bogglingly brilliant cinema. i wish it could be longer. it really rewards a second viewing, as well.

i dunno if it's considered trash, but my fav Aronofsky films to date have been his more subtle ones. like The Wrestler, or Black Swan. Requiem has some unforgettable moments (literally) but it rubs you so hard in the face with it that it's almost hard to take seriously after a few years - it's almost like emotional torture porn. i guess he just likes squeezing those spots as a director and storyteller.

also, 'globes, i feel like i should let you know that last night i dreamed i was going to a party or something with a few faceless people and you were there and had very powerful, potent weed. and were presenting me with a possibility to buy a little bit off you if i want. the dream mostly had to do with this fear i have of going back to Shanghai into this den of bad influence, and being insistent on staying in control this time, but i found it curious that you were the character with the drugs.

I'm probably the last poster here you'd find with drugs, so I guess that means everything in your dreams is upside down and backwards which means that your fears are unwarranted and you are okay.

Oh, I did. And that's what I was saying. I didn't gel with it the first time, but 6-8 years later I gave it another go and loved nearly every frame of it. I half expected that to be what happens with Mother!

It's been ages since I revisited Requiem, but I think I agree. The Wrestler is probably my favorite of his these days.

I'd like to pitch a sequel to The Day After Tomorrow.
It's called The Day After The Day After Tomorrow

Those are definitely a product of the 90s, much the same way giant creature features were a thing of the 50s. That being said, I'd enjoy the shit out of Armageddon II: This Time It's Personal.

At the year 2045, Harry Stanford (Bruce Willis) comes back to earth as a slimy zombie, after years of cosmic radiation strangely pieced his body back together. Along with a digitized hologram of Michael Clarke Duncan, he sets out to take revenge on his daughter Gracie (Liv Tyler), who had been having trouble growing out of the anger and resentment fostered towards the father figure that abandoned her. Meanwhile, whatever-his-name-was (Steve Buscemi) is determined to get into Gracie's panties, and therefore decides to protect her from the monster zombies from space at all costs. Now it's only a question, of who gets to her first?

No it's because people like you use it to tell yourselves you are not the bigotted racist pieces of shit you are.

Which btw got called out BY MULTIPLE PEOPLE on your first few days here and the mods did you a favor by giving time for you to prove yourself to be a better person, but you never do.
You constantly just wait on the sidelines to attack people because lolololol SJWs without ever giving a second to actually think about what you're talking about, how it affects other people or why do others hold the opinions they do.

You are the worst living piece of human garbage.

And yeah that "dictionary definition" is hilariously outdated as has been outlined by many POC authors, but you'd never read those or even inform yourself.
You hold your opinion to shit that was written centuries ago thinking it still applies to the current world.

Should I remind everyone how Marquis thinks it's not harmful to misgender trans people?
Or how sexism doesn't exist?
