Since 1999, do you ever feel like Billy has produced substandard work?
I know this might be a controversial topic but I definitely think that pre-MACHINA II Billy is much better than post-MACHINA II Billy. I’m surprised more people aren’t saying this. Does it ever seem like he is just resting on his laurels or retreading old ground? I hate to go there but I dare say that maybe his bandmates over the years were just phoning it in. Is it possible that ZWAN, for example, wasn’t a big happy family? They had rainbows on their album cover though so they must have been fine. RAINBOWS people. Anyway, they were no FLEETWOOD MAC but whatever. Still RAWKED.

NEGphorians may disagree, but personally I think it's nothing less than ludicrous to imply that masterworks such as RUN2ME & ALIENATION are not on par with such monolithic achievements as MAYONAISE or RUBY

Did you guys know that D'Arcy Wretsky left the band in 1999? Maybe that is why they "lost their mojo."
Then again, the band has consistently had Billy Corgan as a member, yet the musical output has varied considerably. Perhaps the shift can actually be traced to his receding hairline. |

Billy really dropped the ball when he didn't jump on the Ska bandwagon back in the mid/late 90s. He could've had that one more song to slay this earth...
Oh well. |
