What's your favorite music video of all time?
I'm going to have to go with Yo La Tengo's Sugarcube video.
I loved it a lot before I had taken any music business courses but after going to "Rock School" as well I can laugh even more at this video. In fact, I plan on putting the video on a cd and giving it to the teachers I loved at school. In case you haven't seen it, it's HILARIOUS and you should check it out here: http://www.matadorrecords.com/yo_la_tengo/music.html

I love Depeche Modes "Enjoy the Silence". The scenery and music seem to go together. If only they had cut out the whole "we are tough guys" parts, if would be perfect.

I know this incredibly lame in more ways than one but I saw the Thirty-Three video recently for the first time ever and I thought it was beautiful, I loved the imagery in it.

That is probably in my top 5 videos of all time too! Did you know that the guy who did that video (I used to know his name... ) also directed Hum's Comin' Home video which is also FUCKING MINDBLOWING. The guys in Hum dressed up like the people in Starship Troopers and rock out with all this weird psychedelic stuff happening in the background. It's fucking beautiful. |

Aphex Twin's Come to Daddy or NIN's Closer.
I generally dislike Marilyn Manson, but Tourniquet and Beautiful People were gorgeous videos. (<3 Floria Sigismondi)

I never saw the whole thing but the preview I saw once was quite scary. Closer is definitely a classic music video. My favorite Marilyn Manson video has to be Man That You Fear. |
