Default Been a while since we had a metal thread

I've never been huge into High On Fire but their new record is a fucking planet-levelling monster. This is what you get when Kurt Ballou records your album.

What heavy jamz have y'all been rocking lately? Aside from that Dopesmoker reissue, obviously.

Lately it's been the newest Nekromantheon and Black Breath records for me. I'll be seeing Black Breath here in Dayton on July 8. Can't wait for that show.

And next week I'm going to the Municipal Waste/3 Inches of Blood/Black Tusk show in Columbus.

It's got some choice riffs and is worth a spin but not anywhere near as strong as Obzen. Check out "Do Not Long Down" and "Behind The Sun" - those are the choice jamz.

I don't enjoy viking metal/fantasy metal on the whole but everyone I have spoken to who has seen them live has only had really good things to say.

I'm assuming you've all seen this?

They have a new album out - which is fantastic - but this is still the best of their songs on YouTube.

This.

Except Moonsorrow is awesome. And Enslaved was pretty sweet when I saw them last October.

On a Georgia metal kick.

New Baroness is really fucking cool, even if it's pissing everyone off with less heaviness.

And I just bought these Kylesa reissues...
