I don't think that's a fair statement, even if it's a true in the eyes of the law. I know that in the case of "Get Lucky" and the Gaye estate, a jury decided that they sounded similar enough to claim infringement, so it's like that saying about indecency, reworded "the jury will know it when they hear it", twelve people whose random opinions mattered on that particular day, but not the next. The chord progression for Creep is rather common, the Hollies just happened to hit good luck with their lawsuit.

Well, the chord progression is very similar, pretty much the same. And the main vocal melody of the song is pretty much verbatim what Thom does during the bridge of the song. I'd say there were pretty strong grounds for a lawsuit.

I think its a neat concept but just to sit down and listen to for 35 minutes I agree, but there are some parts that I would like the whole song to.

I feel like picking out unreleased or 20 yr later released demos as golden age failures is a bit unfair.
Laugh and Chewing Gum aren't really the cream of the crop. They are probably just throwaways that weren't further developed.

It's ok to be wrong D.

In this case not though. Apologise or i'll make you listen to those songs on repeat for hours.

BYE JUNE
WERE GOING TO THE SPOON
SOMETHING SOMETHING MOON
LALLLA GOON
NANANA SHANNON HOON

Basically, I hate masculine rhyming schemes.

in any case, agreed hard on Czarina tbh. it's got all the atmosphere & austerity of Adore era but none of the heart. One of the most lethargic-sounding things i've heard from Corgan, past or present

& i'll concede Today is overplayed and for a long time I would skip it every time I put on SD. Disarm never gets old for me tho

Speed it up 2 times and it would be a pretty good song. It just drags.

Speed it up 8 times and add a double bass pedal and it would be AWESOME.

Yeah, I mean these songs are still good on a number of levels. It was hard to think of ones I sort of dislike off the top of my head.

Yeah, same here. Pre-Machina, there's very little of their material that I think sucks. Gish, SD, MCIS and even Adore are damn near perfect albums. And Pisces has some of their best songs (Starla, Whir, Frail & Bedazzled). The early days were so great.

Czarina might even be a good song underneath it all it's just the manner in which Billbo sings it kinda drains the life out of me

There's a couple more Adore era "jams" where that's the case but I don't need to get into that right now...
