Question

hmmmmm......

didn't someone theorize once that only low numbered (i.e. single or double digit ones) had the leading 0's and # sign?

remember there was a guy who had number 616 or something like that (he misread it as a date -- 6/6/2000, remember?) and he said his copy defintely came from q101, did NOT have a # sign, and had no leading 0.

i think its simply possible that the numbering was inconsistant. end of story. and since the interns or whatever did it, then maybe they weren't very methodical, didn't give a shit, etc.

i mean, at least we all seem to have the same folding slip case with the black machina cover, right? that has to count for something.

yeah, sure. of course.

but if nobody but people who bought it off this guy on ebay had the leading # and zeros, then we would have something. and that's what we were going for. well, not anymore.

oh gotcha, you were just validating the ones from "that ebay guy".

didn't realize that was the problem -- i thought the discrepency was over multiple #0001's?

in the case of this specific ebay seller, it were two #0099's to be exact.

although i believe zippy has #1 or #2 and found some other person that claims he has the same number too. dunno how that ended.

Thanks davin..

yea i am willing to believe the whole intern "i dont care" theory.

Possible one dude sat down and numberd 1-99, then went on his lunch break.. and someone else picked up and made two 99's by mistake.

The cover and the disks themselves appear to be real..

"that ebay guy" has been banned from ebay, for violating ebay's policies and selling 2 items from one auction (screwing ebay out of listing fees)

Yeah, that was me doing the theorizing. I founded some of the basic priciples of the "Q101 Machina 2 Theory."

Another one of my fundamental laws is:

"If a person were to fake a #'d copy, would said person have the knowledge to fake the 0's in front of the #?. A common forger would surely just write #01/1000 or 01/2000 as opposed to #0001/2000."

My copies of #0001 and #0010 are super authentic seeming. They don't look or feel like forgeries at all.

Heres a question for all of you who own a copy, real or fake.

Do your inner sleeves (the white removable ones) feel really soft and somewhat velvety? Mine definitely have this feel and I feel this might be one way to authenticate what is at least an original copy, excluding the # issue.

You need to tune it better to the Q101 authentication debates. It seems you're more of a problem than a solution........

Hey davin, does the handwriting at least look like it might be from the same person? or no?

Do you see how the 3 zeros after the 2 in "2000" are shorter than the 2? It's the same way on my #10, and the 2 looks almost identical also.
