Default Let's Talk About Interesting Facts!!

I'll start!

- Only about 93.5% of humans have died. (Of the 108 billion people estimated to have lived since the emergence of anatomically modern human beings, 7 billion are still alive.)

That's a fairly amusing fact, but apparently he does normally sport a beard, just not one of the trademark huge beards like the others.

Most fresh water is inaccessible to us. I don't know how much but it's a lot. It's frozen or something

The average lead pencil will draw a line 35 miles long or write approximately 50,000 English words.

The Amazon river carries silt from the Andes down to the ocean. Maybe a lb or two of silt, I'm not sure

Stars visible to us are already dead.

Mind was BLOWN when I found that out. Gave that little nugget of info to my daughter the other day. Watching her digest that was cute.

thats not factual actually. Just one of those things you see passed around as fact. A tiny amount of them might be but even the farthest stars we see as they were a couple of ten thousands of years ago at most. That's not a long time in a star's lifetime.

Tamil is one of the most ancient human languages. Poems written in Tamil date back to 300 years BCE. It is still recognised as the official language of a handful of Indian states, and Sri Lanka.

In some parts of Australia, up to 90% of koalas are infected with chlamydia. Chlamydophila pneumoniae, one of the two strains commonly found in these creatures, can be transmitted to humans.

The technique of diagnosing illness by taking the pulse of an individual was developed in China tens of centuries ago. Fifty-one different types of pulse beats were said to be identified at eleven different locations on the body. Each pulse was linked with a different heatlh problem.
