Default Cover bands

Ok so what do you think of cover bands in general? Scotland seems to have it's fair share such as Mc Floyd, Irn Mc Maiden , not to mention more established international acts such as The Bootleg Beatles and The Australian Pink Floyd

Although I have seen APF and did enjoy the show, I wondered what the rest of theaudience thought, and if they felt slightly empty at the end of these things.

I know for a fact many major artists can't stand cover bands of themselves, espescially more progressive acts who think they are wasting their time.

i'm torn between answer 1 and 2. torn. i've seen some really good cover bands that are most praiseworthy, but i just can't buy the whole experience and fully enjoy it. shame

it really depends on the guys in the coverband. It seems most of the coverbands I've seen at places in San ANtonio really think they're cocks of the walk, and that is really weak. Especially when the lead singer tries to sell his solo albums.

But I'm well aware of some that know what they're doing is kind of silly but they're out to have fun and not take themselves too seriously, you know?

i would call most of those tribute bands as opposed to cover bands. usually cover bands is what i call those bands that play at like weddings and shit and play a bunch of top 40 shit. tribute bands usually do jsut one band's stuff/dress like them, etc, right?
