I don't think it's necessarily that they don't. It might be that they're not happy with the performance or recording; I can't imagine they ever wanted WS to sound like that. Rough mixes are one thing, but it always seemed to me MII was compiled in kind of a hurry.

IMO, if you think SP 2.0 sucks, the best you can hope for is completion of unfinished SP 1.0 work, and luckily, there's a lot of it. Even the Machina Acoustic Demos has some good songs that never saw full production, and afaik they're still not going to, because Billy wants us to suffer as much as he has.

No, you don't see. It starts with new drum tracks and leads to new BC vocals.

This is bad. Very bad. And it's even gonna be all remixed with the vocals like 6 dBs too high in the mix too.

Intentional or not, human or machine, it sounds like shit, and I'm glad they're taking steps to try and make it listenable. I'll start freaking out when I hear Rick Rubin's involved.

And as surprising a good impression of his old voice Bill did on Marchin' On, the passage of time was still noticeable. He couldn't record vocals and fool anyone into thinking they were done in 1999. Not even Robert Smith could pull that off on The Glove's reissue.

of all the ways he's gonna fuck up the reissue, which was always most likely gonna happen, you think recording new drums is indicative?

i kind of assumed he'd just remix everything anyway to 2018 style hell anyway. at least JC can still drum, I don't suppose that's gonna be the main issue.

btw, I thought he recently said they'd only record new stuff for some unfinished songs?

that song was supposed to be a collab between Grimes and Poppy before their recent falling out. Grimes tapped Hana to do the song with her instead (Hana is playing all the faux-metal guitar)
