It's culturally curious how many people dumped it for "better quality" and it was missing from the collective, only existing in our memories of what M2 was for that short while.

I think the reissue remasters also castrate the original content. I've always preferred the original Gish mastering to the 1994 remastering.

I'd prefer something that sounds accurate to what the band recorded than accidentally sped up a tad.

Meanwhile I think the 2012 MCIS remaster blows the original out of the water

Personal preferences

Corgan is having trouble coming up with a song good enough to match the last Smashing Pumpkins single 'Alien Nation'

I mainly don't give a shit about Instagram and Billy's antics. It's sad that Smashing Pumpkins don't share any new music.. it's mostly a bunch of bullshit, and every 2 - 3 years we get a disappointing album release.

for sure. every re-issue so far except gish has had new unreleased/unheard songs, 16 all up over the last 4 reissues.

i'd be very surprised if there aren't any new songs at all on the machina reissue.

Hahaha.... nothing from any reissue so far that i haven't heard before....maybe a handful forgettable songs that i had no clue about.

I dont need a tonight instrumental or adore in mono. What for?

You hope for a 3rd "if there is a god" demo?

Sry but i give a shit about the expensive reissues.

Give us a new vol 2 single and show us that iha still got it.

i still care about the Machina reissue, but not quite like the days when I still cared. Man I really cared back then! Carefully.

Any songs with Iha's playing on them are going to be songs pretty much completely arranged and tracked by Corgan, but that Corgan allowed Iha to add some rhythm overdubs to just so they can call it a band effort. At best, he might actually get to play some leads on a track or two. It's not going to be like the old days, where even if a song was completely recorded by Corgan and Chamberlin, it was still a song that was previously rehearsed or even played live by the entire band, causing Iha's stamp on the performed versions to influence Corgan's studio arrangements. Even though the fact that Corgan isn't a drummer has made Chamberlin's input indispensable, it sounds like quatantine means that the two can't record together and play off of each other on Volume 3 like they would have for Siamese Dream and Zeitgeist. Instead, it sounds like Corgan is tracking the guitar and bass first, and sending the tracks over to Chamberlin to drum over, which would necessarily limit the latter's ability to shape the songs.

Don't expect the new material to get any better just because the old gang is back. They're essentially as much touring musicians as Bates is.

go home, you are drunk and not making sense.

the reissues with all the bonus pre-2000 material has been the most exciting thing to happen in official sp land since 2000.

MY boy, I am already at home. Ready to wank to Run to me!

The Reissues were ok. As I said. There wasnīt much new to detect.

Funny how people hang on to the past....praising the reissues. I personally donīt need any Adore Tour Live recording or Viper Room shit or whatever. There were plenty of free live recordings available before bolly had released the reissues. Thatīs why I was quite disappointed with the final reissue.

Tell me 5 good new (unheard songs from the reissues) that kick ass. For me "Let me give the world to you produced by Rick Rubin was/is pretty cool. Although Iīve already listened to it before the reissue.

Thatīs why i fart on the machina reissue.
iīd be more interested in Vol 2 (What a great album name!!!) - I give belzebub one last chance (now that the 3 are back together) - and bullyboy can prove one last time that he still can write a great album with great production.

And now my dear enemies and friends of brothahial - I drink a fuckn beer!

I do agree, I enjoyed the first 3 reissues but the rest were a bloated wastes of time. The main draw of the Machina one isn't the bonus stuff though. Even if there's not a single unheard track on there it's still going to be quite a different experience. Bits are getting rerecorded, everything's being remixed, unfinished Machina II tracks are getting finished. That's the idea anyway.. maybe it'll end up being a simple Machina remaster, an existing rip of Machina II and a few versions of Le Douche Machina (Howard Willing Remix)

I put random words like strange, love, sun, betwixt, etc into a poem generator, and it came up with this, it's pretty much exactly something BC would write. I put the "chorus" in myself:

************

Smashing Pumpkins
"Strange Lovers"

I cannot help but stop and look at the strange sun
Does the sun make you shiver?
All that is familiar is not globe
globe, by all account is strange

Strange lovers

Now rummy is just the thing
To get me wondering if the globe is other
I saw the the cunning revolutionary group of my generation destroyed
How I mourned the underground

Strange lovers

Middle 8:
Does the underground make you shiver?

Strange lovers

I lost interest before it came out. It's now sold out so I'll continue with the "it wasn't good" false narrative
