Machine-a.

"Deus ex machina" though is pronounced "makina".

He does continue on to say the word is from Latin, so his pronunciation is wrong, but according to the source it's mah-SHEE-nah

I mean technically, if he's saying it's from latin, the album title and song title (deus ex) SHOULD be pronounced MAH-kee-nah. But BC says mah-SHEE-nah. end of story

Yeah no. there's multiple videos where he says mah-KEE-nah, but you're a deluded cunt who always has to be right and who'd argue with Jesus Christ himself so whatever.

pretty sure billy didn't know how to correctly pronounce it when he decided to use it in the album title and so went on record pronouncing it machine-ah and had to pretend he meant it the whole time despite knowing it's 'wrong'

I posted a source with a direct quote. You've posted nothing, because you're fuzzyroes except you're slightly adept enough not to invoke "scholars," "average joes," and "guys I know."

Some Latin pronunciation is changed when used by the church, and Church Latin is used during a sung mass, so I suppose at a stretch, seeing as Machina is music and related to church through the use of Deus ex, you might say that the pronunciation of Machina was different because of that.

I'm not sure that "ch" actually gets changed at all in Church Latin. But I would forgive someone for making the mistake. If indeed they made that mistake.

The 'cae' in caelum, for example, meaning "heaven" (or "sky" in some contexts, I believe) was pronounced "k-eye" in ordinary Latin, but "chay" in Church Latin.

Purposeful (or at least uncorrected) misspellings are a trope in his song titles, so I wonder if he just chose to pronounce it a weird way. He likes wordplay obviously. Melancholy/mellon collie, Adore/a door...

The album is called Machina The Machines of God, which makes it seem an awful lot like Machina should be pronounced like and have something to do with machines. But then there is a song called Deus Ex Machina, which shows he actually does know where the word comes from and what it means

We're talking about the guy who pronounces Tarantula as Ter-ran-too-la. I sometimes think Billy is just trolling the nerd fans.

Another misconception is the 2 new singles. Billy pronounces them , “Olara ” and “ILvery Umtimes / Ohosts”. The consonants are silent/dropped, you know.

Recently it hit me like a ton of bricks that Porcelina may have been a play on "poor Selena"

Maybe this occurred to everyone 20 years ago and I'm just a double dumbass

i've only ever heard machina pronounced kinda like "mock-in-uh" (unless i'm forgetting any 1999/2000 interviews i've seen back then; it's been a long time)

i still pronounce it "mush-een-uh" because i'm an uncultured swine

but if he was speaking it, is it supposed to be meh-DEEL-ee-ah (like the name Delia), or is the double L literally supposed to be pronounced like Spanish?
