Question Silverfuck metro lyrics on SPFC?

(super old news, I know, but I just noticed it)
-----------
http://www.spfc.org/songs-releases/s...song_alt_id=92

i hear your winter
i hear your rain
i've failed your summer ways
i feel no pain

let it go
let it go

i am betrayer
i am betrayed
i am the soothsayer
don't get in my way

yeah
no
yeah

give it up
give it up

it's time for a change

i feel no pain
i feel no pain
i feel no pain
i feel no pain
i feel no pain
i feel no pain
i feel no pain
no pain i feel no pain
i feel no pain
i feel there is no pain i feel

and all that i recovered are the broken pieces of my soul
i dove to the bottom of the river
and i lost my self control

how bad is it, johnny?
it's real bad, commander
how bad do you want it, johnny?
i want it real bad, captain
i want it real bad

and all the mockingbirds say
tweet tweet
tweet tweet
tweet tweet
tweet tweet

and it was drilling a hole in his soul
he did not know where he wanted to go
but he knew he wanted to get there

i hear what you are
and i feel that way
i hear what you want
and you feel that way

how do we do it?
we do it like this
how do we do it?
we do it like this
how have we done it?
we just made a wish
how have we done it?
it all started with a kiss

we may walk far off the path
but we have returned at last
because the answer to your question
the answer to your guess
is the fucking fact that we never left

bang bang you're dead
bang bang you're dead
bang bang you're dead
put a hole right through that head
bang bang you're dead
bang bang you're dead
bang bang you're dead
put a hole right through that head
bang bang you're dead
bang bang you're dead
bang bang you're dead
put a hole right through that head
bang bang you're dead
bang bang you're dead
bang bang you're dead
put a hole right through that head

she loves you
yeah, yeah, yeah
she loves you
yeah, yeah, yeah

help me if you can, i'm feeling down
help me if you can, i'm feeling down
and i know my way around

and on a bright summer day
a couple sway
catching fish and a beautiful girl
not just any girl
but one that can deliver a fish
she sits down
where are you going to?
she sits down
anything that you want to do
because with you my love, i cannot lose
this is not abuse
it's a choice

and a mother cried real tears
'cause she lost a daughter and a best friend
he had the face of all those other boys
what's he want with her anyway
she reviews to her friends
and they would say
don't worry, it's true love
don't worry, it's true love
everything was going to be all right
all right
all right
all right
it was going to be all right

love and pain
love and pain
love and pain
determines what to say
love and pain
love and pain
love and pain
determines what to say

i know what you are
i know what you are
i know what you are

yeah
go
they know

i hear winter
rain
and all i recovered
i put into a book
sometimes the silence
heavier than the rain
sometimes the silence
leaves falling
that's right
that's right
that's right
that's right
do not dare disagree

uncaged
uncorked
unlocked upon the masses
we still lie to get what we want
'cause we are sweet as...
ahhhh
and for you
for the shame
ahhhh

i hear what you are
and i feel that way
i hear what you are
and i feel that way

do you feel?
do you feel?
do you feel?
how many times do we have to prove this?
well, let us demonstrate one more time
sort of redundant that way
every teardrop
that's when everything went blurry

yes
can you say yes?
yes
we're in the affirmative now
as we said the last time we were on this stage
positivity rules
the heart will win
there is no better way

To my understanding, it's because there is another minidisc recording of the show... not Paul Baker's, but another one. It's of worse quality, but a few people have it and it's complete. That's where I'm guessing the lyrics came from.

I haven't actually heard it though. If I'm wrong, please feel free to correct me (and/or send me a copy).

Lightbulb Smiley iz right

There is, in fact, another MD recording of the concert that is even *worse* quality than Paul Baker's recording. I am sure of this, I know the source info, etc. but I guess people are "not supposed to tell." The lyrics on the SPFC were transcribed using that (plus the memory of many people that were there, of course).

just to move away from "The Phantom MetroBootleg" for a sec, truthfully, I'm a little disapointed with the lyrics. I'm not a fan of the jam versions of Silverfuck from the MCIS shows, and I read in reviews of the Metro that it was supposedly kinda like that. I just prefer the SD version better (The one on Vieuphoria being probably the best way to play it in my opinion). Cuz they fucked around with alot of songs on the 2000 tour and while some worked out for the better ("Ava Adore") some didn't ("Snail").

I'm not gonna lie and pout and say "FINE! GO AHEAD AND LISTEN TO IT YOU STUPID JERKS!! ITS STOOPID AND I DIDN'T WANNA HEAR IT ANYWAY!" cuz that would be lying. I really do want to hear it, but I'm guessing it probably isn't the be-all-and-end-all version of Silverfuck that everybody made it out to be.

Actually the Silverfuck from the metro wasn't like the MCIS jams. They actually had a whole new guitar riff (that was badass) and it felt like a song in the beginning, not a jam. Towards the end, they jammed a bit and went into the traditional Silverfuck, but most of the song felt like a new song.

The Silverfuck on Vieuphoria is a jam version, at least to my ears. I wouldn't call jackboot anything but a kickass extended jam.

Its not the lyrics themselves that make the MCIS style silverfuck jams. Well they are part of it, but it is also the music, the effects used, the way billy sings/screams and the atmosphere it creates. The atmosphere and feeling is what makes the lyrics great.

I'm guessing that the Metro silverfuck was the be all and end all, or if not close to it.

hahaha, good point.

but yeah, personally, I'd rather hear Silverfuck as you know, Silverfuck. the Drop D riff that we all know and love. I'd actually feel a let down if it sounded completely different.

I agree with you there...if it's a totally different riff with the same lyrics and time signatures, it just wouldn't be right. if it was the same basic song but had more stuff with the song, i'd be ok with it...

here's a revelation to ponder about.....

silverfuck 12/2 -> spilled milk.

riff is similar, and so are the drums. same time signitures, etc.

I've said this before, and I'll say it again. The best part of the 12/2/00 Silverfuck was when the full band launched into the classic 1993 riff. Everything had become silent, and nobody knew what was coming next, but the band just brought it all together and starting playing the album version. That segment of the Silverfuck didn't last very long, but the shock-value was enough to make it the best part of the night for me. And Jimmy's drumming was spectacular.

eh, the main reason that MD source isint circulating is due to the fact that for some fucked up reason, most people didnt give a damn to hear such a crappy recording of the final show. doesnt make much sense, but oh well.
and letting out the first 2 discs of the show, real cool hah...

listening to Spilled Milk right now I kinda know what you mean. (haven't listened to it in a long time) the main riff sounds similar & drumming. it always struck me as "Silverfuck"-ish, but it ain't "Silverfuck". (edit: if you think about it the titles "Spilled Milk" and "Silverfuck" are kinda similar and seems keeping w/ Billy's odd sense of humor)

I guess the greater argument is if or not you dig the pumpkins messing around with thier songs. I think there's a limit. BWBW on the MACHINA tour was recognizable as BWBW but with a few minor changes. BWBW on the Adore tour less so. And if you're going to mess around with the lyrics as much as indicated way at the beginning of the post I personally want to hear the classic SD Silverfuck. If they had played Silverfuck a bunch of times over the MACHINA tour in this different version, I'd understand it cuz it would be the MACHINA version (ala BWBW.) But something about it being the final song of the final show cries out for being SD era.

maybe I'll completely change my mind when I hear it and think "this is the best version ever!" but somehow I doubt it.

Silverfuck from the last show didn't even compare to 96/97.

the effort was commendable though. it was at least interesting.

I guess I'd have to agree with that. But it's not really fair, because I have a hard time thinking of anything that compares with the 96/97 Silverfucks. I mean any song, any time. Those MCIS Silverfucks were just that good.

I love Silverfuck but I don't like the MCIS era jams (aside from when it kicks in). The Billy Corgan diary sums up my thoughts about it:

The two people still left awake after the four and a half hour Silverfuck jam seemed very pleased. They were even more pleased when I unchained them and said that they were forgiven for giving me such a rotten upbringing. I love Mom and Pop really...

its not that, its just that the majority of the MCIS silverfuck jams it are just james on the ebow and Billy screaming.

I like the jams ala the end of the of Porcelina or Ava Adore or TEROR from United Center. or the slight variations they stuck into HMM. those sound great.

Totally right. That song was 40 minutes long. If you recall, there were a lot of people screaming for Silverfuck. Well they certainly gave it to us. I also do remember that feeling of not knowing what was going to happen next. At one minute it could have all ended and the show would have been over, and then the song would start back up again. And yes, Jimmy's drumming was spectacular.
