riiight...ya, game 7's are fun when your team isn't in it. When they are, its just nerve-racking.

That Perez at bat was one of the worst you'll ever see. Swinging at 5 straight nearly head-high pitches.

Josh Willngham on the bench not batting is insane, D.

MadBum just finished off one the greatest performances in postseason history of any sport, not just baseball.

Bum is god.

How exactly did KC kinda give this away? What happened to Blanco in the 9th and then to have Perez kick it once more after that, is almost giving it away. KC had no blunder of that magnitude.

Bochy is God. Just sealed the Hall of Fame for him with this coaching job. In many ways, this team had no business getting this far.

Bunting with your best hitter. Sliding into first (that should be a fineable offense). Perez batting there.

Bochy is really amazing, 1st ballot probably.

It was a great series, pretty well played. Wish KC won but happy for Peavy.

I already miss baseball.

Game 7 was an instant classic. It had the two things that were looming over the series the whole time; the Royals big 3 in relief and Bumgarner. When KC won game 2, I was trying to figure out how the G's were going to get 2 other wins besides Madbum's starts. I couldn't see it and sure enough, Affeldt gets it on MB's back.

The coaching staff patterned out this very scenario after last nights game. If Hudson got in early trouble, they'd bring in Affeldt to clean up and ride Madbum for as long as they could. It worked, but only because they got to 3 before KC did and then the two looming aspects of the series squared off. great stuff.

C'mon Trots, even you can appreciate some of the numbers here:

...

Bumgarner, 36 WS innings 0.25 ERA Best ever for min. 25 innings.

5 innings in game 7 (on 2 days rest). Longest save in WS history.

...

Pablo Sandoval, 26 postseason hits. MLB record.

Hunter Pence and the Panda, 12 WS hits. 1 shy of the record.

Home teams were 23-3 in gm's 6 and 7 heading into these last two.

last WS game 7 won by the road team: Pirates, 1979.
