128 kbps = 128 kbps

it's simply an issue of accurately reproducing the original tapes.
there's a significant amount of data that is lost in MP3's compared to the original CD. Even those CDs have limitations to what they can reproduce. lower quality means a reduced dynamic range (difference between loud and quiet sounds) and a reduced frequency range (cutting out low frequencies and highs). It's commonly accepted that frequencies even above the human hearing range affect people's perception.
granted many people lack a playback system to even notice the loss in quality, considering how affordable data storage is today — there's no reason to limit the quality.
you are a delight~

thank you-

i was talking in less technical terms- more of ways that people can harness the quality- seems like a waste to get 24/96 and then play it on a computer with ass speakers.

The bonus content choice on these reissues is abysmal. We know there are tons more unreleased tracks from these periods that have got sidelined in favour of Pisces tracks? Rough demos and alt versions? The Pavement reissues included pretty much every b-side/unreleased/live show from their respective albums. This is lacklustre by comparison. Pulseczar again over material like Stars Fall In? I can only assume Corgan is storing the rest of it up for live albums/b-side & unreleased collections in future.

Of course, I'll pick up SD like a bitch anyway. Gish can go fuck itself.

But if you buy through sp.com the extra money goes towards drum lessons for Byrne.

Looks like Best Buy will have the $28.99 versions; probably a few in store, I would imagine. Doesn't say 2xCD, it just says "CD/DVD" so I dunno...

http://www.bestbuy.com/site/Siamese+...kins&lp=2&cp=1

http://www.bestbuy.com/site/Gish+%5B...kins&lp=3&cp=1

scant info but there ya go - If it is the 2XCD/DVD, I'll be picking it up there, I guess.

That's probably where it goes - but if my extra $6 does ANYTHING to push them forward so this project doesn't get scrapped before the Machina I/II reissue, then it was $6 well spent.

What bonus content? You still get the 2 discs and 1 DVD per album. I think the only bonus content is the Frail and Bedazzled demo that's already been uploaded.

All preorders of GISH and/or SIAMESE DREAM ******* an instant download of the four tracks available to the Smashing Pumpkins Record Club - the 8-track demo of "Drown," "Suicide Kiss Geek (no vox)," "Barb Wire" and "Rhinoceros Version 2," plus one new exclusive. As a little bonus for purchasing these from the SPRC directly, we have found another little buried treasure for you. Enjoy the "Frail and Bedazzled Instrumental" - This is a Billy Corgan home demo from back in the day!
i was going to spend the extra $$$ just to get the bonus stuff because im a whore.
