Honestly don't get how anyone could ever question James' and D'arcy's contribution. If all four never would been in a band together, none of these songs or albums ever would have been made. How they got there and how they were made is irrelevant at the end of the day. It's honestly shocking how Billy talks about this situation like its complicated or difficult to understand, when in reality its just why everyone loves rock bands, in that there's something really cool that happens sometimes when random people get together to play some music. I wasn't there when Siamese Dream was recorded. My best guess is that Billy probably was the better technical player, and maybe he did what needed to be done to to get the band over the top while the window of opportunity was open, but at the same time that album wouldn't exist without James and D'arcy.

i do. some of the best stuff they've ever released, for real.

i still have the clips broken up as separate tracks to listen to in my music playlists. replaced some of them with gravity demos and reissue bonus tracks as they came out, but there's a bunch that still haven't been heard otherwise yet.

It’s been said here and elsewhere ad nauseam but the fact big willie persists in punishing us, upon each new release, with either 1) warmed-over, hollow facsimiles of golden age pumpkins, or 2) outright trash, when we know there’s a veritable Everest of unused riffs in his toolkit, is maybe the saddest and most perplexing fact for the longsuffering pumpkinfan

Like, just roll tape and take those riffs, jam on em with big jim and slim james, and whoever on bass, honk into an sm58, and give us that = happy fanbase IMO
