Oh, fuck off. I don't know anything else they do, but that song is straight up garbage.

Wishing about going back to the good old days and his good old days are when his moms sung him to sleep... Get real. That's some bunk shit. But I suppose it's not surprising seeing as that they're probably like 20 years old... Which makes a song of that theme even stupider...

Too many bands of recent memory have done that same type of song. That "Fun" song was super huge, that "we are young" song and then MGMT had a similar one and now these wankers are doing the same theme again and it keeps on resonating.

*edit* I really had no idea what the band looked like. I can't believe that they look like punk guys. I never would've imagined that in a million years.

Lol good god reprise, that shit sucks.

So those guys are like a big act eh? Fuck man, I'm out of touch. I've heard the name mentioned around here before but I had no idea what it was.

The guy sings like Maroon 5. Everyone with that annoying fucking voice these days!

It's very formulaic don't you think? He does the preppy suburbia-guy rap thing on every verse and then the chorus is ALWAYS the Maroon 5 singing.

If that's what's cool these days then I don't wanna be cool.

I don't really believe that it's cool though. It's the shit that soccer moms and stuff listen to, but I don't think young people are all that jazzed up by it.

Regardless of whether or not music is better or worse these days, well I can't speak to that.

I just can't fucking deal with 'the good ol' days' anymore.

Yeah man, for sure. And it's not just that the music is atrociously bad, the lyrics are also the most baseline nonsense. So the combination of the 2 just pisses me off. And the song is in HIGH rotation. Probably like 3 times a shift, and when you're running on caffeine near an end of the shift and it comes on for the 3rd time, it's one of those sensations that everyone wants to avoid in life lol.

Yeah but there was still a lot of good in the cultural zeitgeist. Now it sucks more than ever. I don't know how anyone can argue that.

ALL OF THE BIG HITS ARE WRITTEN BY A HANDFUL OF PEOPLE. That's why music all sounds the same now. There's no mainstream variety.

Hell yeah.

The old station wasn't as repetitive though. I probably wouldn't even care about that other crappy band if it wasn't played SO MUCH.

There's also like a different Taylor Swift song played every 40 minutes. I've talked to some managers about changing it, but to no avail.

This woman at work went on an excruciatingly long rant about how pizza sucks these days. It's all doughy and tasteless she said. I tried to explain to her that tastes change as you get older, I used to have an obscene sweet tooth when I was a lamb and now most of that stuff doesn't appeal to me at all. It's not a bad thing, it's just different. She looked at me like I was an idiot who had no interest in making America grate mozzarella again.

There's a plague of reality denial in this world. And yeah, everything goes back to Trump. Deal with it.

Oh no son, you're hating on that? That sounds musical ecstasy.

When you were talking about shitty Phil Collins I was more envisioning something like this lol
