So can we safely say this album is a flop?

- Low chart rating
- Disappeared off the charts
- Mixed to negative reviews
- No cultural impact / "contemporary" success
- No tour possible that might've helped its chances
- Billy already moved onto talking about MCIS sequel *before* this came out

Yes

Amazing how less than two months later it has all disappeared from WPC's feed, he's stopped every Q&A related activity and it's like it never existed.

I don't know why I should feel this way, given that I didn't like Cyr, but I feel a little bad for him. Hope he hasn't entered some sort of woe-is-me phase that destroys any possibility of better future work with Iha and Chamberlin. You can hear how much effort he put into Cyr, even if the results are not that impressive, so it flopping must have been a blow. After the Big Tour he has been delusional about their comeback success potential, methinks.

All his own doing. He's an extraordinarily talented musician and writer, and he should be as relevant today as 25 years ago. But he's surrounded himself with sycophants.

There is a solid and respectable album in Cyr somewhere. It has just been presented in a way which will turn off 90% of the people he wants to buy it. He needs an editor, he needs to be led by a producer etc rather than dictating. If he's intent on MCIS pt2 he needs to let Chamberlin and Iha take the reigns because their last solo records contained fundamentals of the SP sound his work is lacking. And finally... bury his god damn vocals.

As the comment above said, it’s all his own doing. All he had to do was to make one great record in, what, 15 years?
Honestly I feel bad for the Billy Corgan of the 90s, the kid with immense talent and era-defining songs.
Pretty hard to feel bad for a mercurial guy with amateur synths giving fans crap on Instagram, imo.

Yes this is all true.

It's also the best album in nearly a decade.

This is very sad for the future of the band.

James is back and they played the same size audiences as they did with M&M.

Well, I was reading a study that correlates masturbation with a very lonely lifestyle, and it makes sense. The act of lovemaking is one of the most intimate bonding experiences that there is and yet humans have found a way to exploit the miracle process by making themselves ejaculate alone with their own hands. We need to start being cognizant in regards to how we self sabotage ourselves... And most importantly it's crucial that we "know thyself"

And if you do simulate the act of making love with your very own fingers, at least realize that you're partaking in an act of perverted degeneracy. A lot of millennial's have been entirely brainwashed and programmed by the mainstream media (think motion pictures such as the American Pie franchise) to think that these degenerate acts are socially acceptable and healthy, but it's all a canard.

Start a family. The purpose of life is to reproduce. Don't die as a miserable and alone old man. You think it's hard being lonely in your 20's and 30's? Try considering how dire and all encompassing it begins to feel in ones 40's and 50's

This is the final, best flow for this album. Other tracks may be ok. But this is how Cyr comes across most mature/solid. Like your maga grandmas new bra u got her off Amazon prime to commemorate the insurrection u fuckerrrrrrssssss
