Asexual, or aromantic?

Because asexual people are still capable of romantic interest and romantic love, they just don't get aroused. If she's just asexual, it doesn't mean that your entire relationship was meaningless or anything.

If she's aromantic… that's more complex. Like, it could be that she was never interested in you and was just with you because she felt that it's "what people do," but love can also be more complex than that. People who love each other are not "in love" all the time. Sometimes it's more of a choice of "I get along with this person and have several goals and values in common with them, so we're going to make the decision to become partners." Like, some friends of friends were a married couple consisting of a gay man and a lesbian woman. They're old folks, got married before homosexuality was accepted because they needed to hide their true preferences from society. But they clearly cared about each other very much, had a child… maybe they weren't "in love," but they clearly had a love for each other.

I personally feel too young to seek the kind of love that doesn't ******* some sort of element of passion. Obviously, it can't be constant, that's unrealistic for any human relationship, but like, I don't need to be an old married couple yet. You probably don't, either.

I'm actually terrified of that kind of relationship. The kind of couples that seem to merge into one person and do everything together and stop hanging out with their other friends and are never apart. Part of the reason why I'm attracted to people with a clear sense of identity, I guess.

Some people fantasize about the kind of relationship where to two people become co-partners who work on all of the same projects. Like, opening a shop together, or becoming co-authors on some research project, being bandmates, something like that. I kind of fantasize more about the sort of relationship where we both have our separate projects and endeavours that we support each other with, but are totally our own thing. And then at the end of they day, she tells me how her day went with the installation she's working on, and I tell her about the progress I've made with my thesis or something like that.

it's more the physical touch aspect that's uh far out

I've had a high guard for my personal space all my life, I'd like to be a cactus, relaxing into casual physical contact with a person in public and such was very different for me
