Jesse Miller has be laboriously constructing his own version of SMiLE. Ask him about it, it's pretty impressive.

Thanks, that interests me as well, though I'm mainly focused on getting the Vigotone and the Sea Of Tunes versions. Those versions seem to be the most available and the definitive ones. Hmm... guess there's nothing definitive when we're talking about SMiLE.

Dan, I'll be e-mailing you soon. Thank you.

I would bet that's what Jesse is working from, if he really is working on a definitive Smile. The 4 SOT boots that I have are amazing.

Would you be interest in trading it? I'm fascinated with SMiLE's story.

You may call it unpublished, but as a matter of fact, it's an unfinished album. Stories about this release are amazing, and people is still debating those songs since 1968. For those unfamiliar with the story, it's a collection of music that Brian Wilson started to work in after he released "Pet Sounds", the BB's masterpiece. He recorded several versions in different pieces and called the project quits in the middle of it. Some songs were almost done, but many of them were totally separated on their first takes. So people started wondering what would the final cut be, playing with the pieces like a puzzle.
The most amazing thing is that even if Brian Wilson decided to finish this record this days, we couldn't consider it an accurate version of what SMiLE would be in it's supposed original date (1967-68). The man is old now, time went by and we don't have the same mind we had at that point. He ond only him knew exactly how those "pieces" connected, but one of the things that made him quit was the great complexity the songs were getting and the lack of security on what direction he should give the songs since he had a lot of different options.
