Default Shit, man... The Future Embrace is actual fire

Just sayin'

I member talking to a fellow person of this board - this album was slowly being released on MySpace - and I was like, "It sounds good... It's kinda Adore-like.

That's all.

It still has some of his older song writing skills. I mean, comparing with it today.

I also saw teh Bolly play this in LA. Straw tits and special guest Jimmy. I was really drunk midway through the show. I was screaming YEEEAAAH at this couple next to me that was on a date or something... they didn't care. Then I drove 25+ miles back home, but shouldnt have. Ah, memories.

Found this record super boring. Gave it a few chances but all subsequent listens didn't change my opinion on it.

I listened to it recently after having only listened to it once back in 2005.

It is a descent album.

I loved it then, and I love it now. It, and some of Zeitgeist, is really the only shit I've liked since post-2000. Even Zwan stuff had me rolling my eyes.

One of the tracks on TFE that grew on me was Strayz. His vocals on it are really, really good.

Now (and Then), Walking Shade, TheCameraEye, ToLoveSomebody... all excellent.

The only song on it that I'm not incredibly fond of is Pretty, Pretty Star. Outside of that, I probably listen to the rest once every few months.

I love how on the main board, this thread title just reads "Shit, man... The Future..."

The best of tfe is the cover. One of the most outstanding covers ever seen.

I have heard that tfe was a great success in korea.is that true?

I am not sure I would call it fire, but I do like it and think that it is criminally underrated. Most people go from shitting on Zwan to shitting on Zeitgeist and skip over the album.
it has 1) great songwriting on most of the tracks, 2) lyrics that are passable, 3) good vocal leveling, 4) a pretty good guitar tone and album atmosphere

It does have a few weak tracks and gets sort of exhausting after a while, though. Some variation in tone would improve it. I remember HATING the Walking Shade song and video when it came out and feeling embarrassed to be a fan.

It’s pretty great. It’s the last time Corgan was actually creative.

(And All Things Change is gorgeous)

I saw both London dates of the TFE tour. It was excellent.

I haven't listened to the album for years, but remain fond of it...aside from 'I'm ready' which makes me want to murder through repetition of the title.

"TheCameraEye" might be my favorite song Billy has written since SP1 ended. That sounded like something off a Smashing Pumpkins from an alternate future where Adore was a massive success.

20 seconds into All Things Change.... Sheesh.

Horrible drumloop: check
Terrible vocal affectations: check
Weirdly out of synch instrumentation: check
Billy doing his race car noise: check

Mina Loy: Starts so well, then the chorus arrives and it's just nothing.

TheCameraEye: The guitar line is great, but there is this real disharmony between the music and vocals in the chorus that just make it... unlistenable.

Yeah... this album is a fucking garbage fire. It's seriously awful, what the fuck netphoria?
