At 1:00, 2:05... and check out 1:50. He like hits a different effect like every 3 seconds, continually changing the guitar textures.

That thing that sounds like a leslie cabinet is cool, but the rest seems like overkill.

Well, just something different than the usual "I'm playing scales really fast!" wank-off solo, you know? I find textures more interesting than actual solos. (solo on "Behold The Nightmare!" etc.).

I prefer a happy medium between wanky and atmospheric/artful/melodic soloing. I suppose this is one of the reasons why I became a fan of SP, which for an alternative/grunge era band definitely had some of the better guitar work sans masturbatory activity.
