Default Yuck have a new EP out called Southern Skies

Its pretty good so far. The Siamese Dream / early Pavement sound is still kind of present.

I like the first Yuck album...I haven't heard anything else since their main singer left.

The second album isn't that good. This new release is somewhat of a return to form.

Didn't these guys have a lineup change recently?

I think in the first video I saw by this band, they were just playing in a rehearsal space or something, and there was a naked girl just standing there motionlessly in the middle of the room.

Their original singer quit and now the lead guitarist has taken over vocal duties. The new singer has a deeper rougher sounding voice. The original guy had a great voice for this type of music. It was soft and not as intrusive.

The original singer was better. My band opened for Yuck earlier in the year. They (mainly the singer and bassist) were big time primadonnas. They were overly fussy about everything. Drummer was a nice bloke though.

It can be difficult to ignore a line up change when it's the singer. It's not often that it's a better vocalist for the band. A change of vocalist is uncommon in itself.

Wow I wouldn't have guessed that.

I dunno, I like both albums. Saw them earlier this year I think it was and they all signed my copy of glow and behold.

Aside from the mediocre singing Glow and Behold is too safe sounding at times. It sounds too much like Gin Blossoms and Teenage Fanclub which is kind of scraping the bottom of the barrel for 90s rock nostalgia.

I've been checking out some songs from their debut and they sound pretty good, but the vocals seem to be too far down in the mix so that I can't make them out properly. It's frustrating. What the dilly?
