No, most of the people in the sub are late 20's and 30's. The shows been on for like 12 years. Most of us grew up watching it.

How'd you figure that? The way Gish and especially SD were recorded was Vig's signature method. He was the one pushing for the overdubs. I'm sure Billy agreed with his methods but if he'd been trying to talk Vig into him doing it all don't you think Vig would've mentioned it? It's not like he's worked with Corgan recently.

Well he wasn't really a "yes man" so much as the first guy to really feed into Corgan's ego w/ the suggestion he essentially play all the parts. Not saying he was wrong for that or anything, Billy was clearly the better player, but I wonder how different if at all things would have been had they recorded those albums with a more... balanced involvement

Probably would’ve sounded more like the Peel Sessions. tbh the version of Siva there wipes the floor with the album version.

I guess James was not feeling good about SD hardly featuring his playing and decided to speak up. I remember many years later, Billy saying he would have been happy to let the perception stand because he always thought bands seemed cooler than solo artists or whatever, and he didn't understand why James betrayed the illusion.
Vig has later stated in interviews from the last few years that bass and guitar on Gish was 100% Billy.

Yeah I believe Gish was 100% Billy and Jimmy except for the vocals on Daydream. Although did James come up with the riff for I Am One?

Yeah the main classic riff of I Am One was James'. I recall an interview where Billy said he thought it was almost too obvious of a "rock riff" at the time, but he still went with it and it turned out well.

Zeitgeist was Billy trying to ape American Idiot in my opinion, but nobody cared.

Also, that muting thing he does now in songs like Solara is the bad influence he got from listening to too much Greenday and smoking too much skunk.

I'm disappointed Billy doesn't write more songs about masturbation. They'd probably be 10 minute long synthfests with coded lyrics.

Since it can be argued that most of his concerts turn into a load of old wankery anyway, perhaps it can be argued that they are symbolic of onanism; only with pyro, video, strange costumes and the public in attendance.

He ends up just masturbating himself and I end up feeling very alienated...

Reprise did you let fuzzy back on the General board? Is he no longer banned? Did you decide he’s been a good boy who ate all his vegetables and has promised to be nice and play fair.

I'm still booted.

I figured the SP side of the board would be exciting considering the reunion... Then the band decides to play the same set every show for the WHOLE tour and then the 2 new songs suck-ass.

Typical of Billy Corgan to somehow make a reunion boring as hell.

The clear highlight of it all was the Alt-Nation work with D'arcy... Who woulda thunk it?!

Oh fuck yeah, buddy. I don't think that there was a more charismatic band during that time.

They were just magic during that Dookie-Insomniac era. Great T.V performance. Tre Cool has his hair like Ricky from Trailing Park Boys in the video LOL

I remember I was home sick from school, I had just recently became obsessed with Green Day and Much Music was airing a live feed from Woodstock 94. I had no idea what it was or that Green Day was even to be featured, so imagine my surprise to see them up there as I'm flicking through the channels. And of course in those days you couldn't just go on Youtube so I hadn't even seen what the band was like live. Holy shit, that was exciting to watch as an 8 year old kid.

I remember thinking what the hell?! His hair's blue now?!

Who cares? Always about Billy played all the guitar parts and bass. blah blah blah
Ever see them live in the 90's?? Pretty damn good All of them
Billy can't play everything live
If that was the case, it would be him and Jimmy on stage

Even if Billy recorded the parts, it doesn't mean that the bandmates didn't have a hand in forming the parts during all the time spent hashing things out in rehearsals
