Default Slipknot's Corey Taylor: no aliens would interact with a culture this stupid

http://www.theguardian.com/music/201...ng-me-hate-you

Quote:
Music, TV, movies, internet, books (those are what you download on your Kindle Fires kids), everywhere you look it’s like the entertainment is falling down under the weight of its own trash. I’ll paraphrase Michael Bay, who summed it up best when he told his critics he didn’t give a shit what they thought of his latest Transformers instalment because, “You’re all going to see it anyway.” He was right; it was the first film of 2014 to cross the $100m mark in its first weekend in the US. Bay could keep making these fucking flicks until he has his body frozen to outlive the future. It won’t make any difference. The lemmings are going to head for the cliff with nothing on their minds other than feeling the whoosh of the wind cross their fuzzy faces as they plummet towards the canyon floor. That’s us: we’re the lemmings. Depending on how you look at it, our sense of entertainment is either the wind in our faces or the ground pushing our faces back through our skulls. Either way, we’re really fucked.

is this ****-irony or something

"Feed your brain something other than vacuous chaos and mediocre drivel."

funny because that's what his book sounds like (nevermind music). It's like a 18 years old manifesto. "man...mainstream culture sucks man...like...use your intellect ok? people are like, SOOO stupid". its like wow i've just discovered i had to ability to (sorta) think! It's half a dozen paragraphs of complete cliches. What a writer!

its just that hes getting published and guardian has an excerpt of his shit on their site. That's the issue more than his limited cognitive functions.

Hm yes, but you see, I believe there is a science to this. When amusing oneself with word substitutions of a satirical nature, I find it preferable to keep the pronunciation and rhythm as close to the original sentence as humanly possible. Alas, the only word I could contemplate which sounded similar to the ground would have been the grind which i felt may have sounded perhaps too contrived. For skulls, I had no adequate substitution. Nevertheless, since skulls is a one syllable word, in a commendable yet forlorn effort to keep a comparable flow, I reasoned that the least syllables, the better. Bowels, then, superseded intestines.

I suppose now, in a too classic case of esprit d'escalier that bring a wistful smile to my countenance, it occurs to me that the word sphincter begins with an s. Though, naturally, it still counts one pesky syllable too many and shares no phonetical relation with skulls....

the ground pushing our faces back through our skulls
the grind pushing your feces back through your sphincter

Would this have constituted a superior lampoon? Please do share, as a fellow esteemed wordsmith, your valuable opinion on this matter.

Your incessant compeer,

-Le Garcon Explosant

for a solid chunk or the half-generation after us, they were the first foray into music with those sort of subversive themes. definitely a band that people "grow out of", but they are not terrible.

The Archons are just an overtone away; far enough to not be seen, close enough to feed off our energy. We are but a goldfish in a fishbowl in this regard. No more aware of the house the bowl is in let alone the world that is outside the house.

Was it the pilot episode of Star Trek that reveals the Archons game? if not the pilot, one of the very early ones. There's a few good Archon researchers out there and one of them created a template of them and then was informed about this Star Trek episode. He was unaware of it at the time yet it echo'd everything he'd been studying about them for 20 years.
