The children's charities for US Adore tour were yes, related to an issue of importance to the members but they also represented for the band (as they say here) an apolitical cause, something that does not involve partisan abstractions. They've never been a group to be puppeted by the whims of disingenuous media, by the complex to politicize every gesture in the public view.

Power is power no matter the arbitrary classification of that power. The social evil, the human cost of that power in our contemporary culture lies in the radicalization of the differences between our parties, parties that say whatever they can in a way to maintain that power. Of course BC sees that and of course he does not want to play along, just like he never played along in the 90s. Just because he doesn't align himself publicly with the dems in the way that a lot of celebrities are doing (so that they can benefit from cultural trends, the 'optics' of it btw) does not make him a 'right winger.'

As paranoid states, what he actually says aligns more clearly with the messaging of the contemporary 'left' (racial and gender equality, etc.) even though he probably would never align himself that way, or any way, because of how that alignment is used now to only sow dissension and hatred.

To call him a 'right winger' is, I think, to naturalize into the paradigm created by media platforms aligned with political agendas to retain and expand their audience / base. It's a fucked up game. And I'm about as 'liberal' as they come. Biden the social justice savior? His deportation of the Haitian refugees? American democracy is a mares nest.

And, btw, Glass was on Alex Jones, not Billy.

Zeitgeist is the closest thing we have to an SP position on politics but it is not a political party record; it can be read as a response to the spirit of the culture that the political party system has systematically eroded.

You can also distrust all forms of extremism (even if they pledge allegiance to 'good' causes) while also supporting, in your own way, the essence of the causes those extreme groups claim to support.

BC is about people not parties.
