what are some of your favorite Rod Stewart songs?
really can't go wrong with some of the classics: - Maggie May - Do Ya Think I'm Sexy? - Forever Young (interesting backstory there regarding the similarity with Bob Dylan's song of the same name) - The First Cut Is The Deepest - Handbags and Gladrags - Reason To Believe I just really dig the cheesiness of it, he does it so well. what a cool raspy voice too. of his newer songs, and I confess I have not listened to them all, the one that landed the best for me was Can't Stop Me Now (2013) which is this 'origin story' kinda song. I like him best in short, concentrated bursts over a day or two, and then I don't listen to him for probably a year. So yeah, what Rod Stewart songs do you like the most? |

My mom always played a lot of Stewart when I was growing up and I think this was my favorite:
I think she and my dad have basically stopped listening to music altogether? Like what kind of psychopath nonsense is that? In high school my sister and I were really into this band called Jellyfish that enjoyed some minor success, but fell apart pretty quickly. At the time there was this rumor that Rod Stewart wanted to cover one of their songs, "I Wanna Stay Home," but I didn't think anything ever came of it. yeah i came across that one yesterday and was curious how old it was.. looked it up and the album came out nearly 50 years ago. still feels totally unnecessary. that said, i imagine a lot of things from today will make people cringe in 50 years, assuming humanity makes it that far

I’ve actually never listened to Rod Stewart besides “Do Ya think I’m Sexy” and that was only because they played it at the grocery store I used to work at (weird setting for the song I know). Wasn’t a fan of that song.
