I really wanna read that book but am hesitant, mainly because Al is a life-long junkie and attention-whore who will say anything, so I don't know that really anything in the book would be reflective of real-life events.

This is pretty much indicative of 99% of all rock star bios, to be fair.

That being said, he doesn't really pat himself on the back too much. I wish there was more studio/technical talk but it's mostly about how wasted he was.

It's too hard to come to Netphoria and actually spend time thinking about what I'm gonna post and then spending like 10 minutes trying to make it all sensational.

volume 3 Special Edition #1

https://astronavigationdemystifieddo...d-header12.jpg

Welcome back to everyone who's missed these titillating "NO WAY!?!?" factoids! This week we have a super special edition for you, and it's sure to make a great conversation piece at your next dinner party or at any other assorted gathering!
- Now let's get on with it already, shall we?

As we all know, MTV debuted on August 1st 1981 and then proceeded to go on and flip the major label music industry on it's head and revolutionize the way the public connected with their music. Even the president of the station himself had no idea what a cultural phenomenon it would be! It served as a way for the artist to provide visuals to their music and gave people a greater sense of identifying with the artist. MTV would become a SMASH SUCCESS.

It's a commonly known trivia question that The Buggles "Video Killed The Radio Star" was the very first video played on MTV.... but....

DIDJA KNOW!?: What the 2nd video was?!

The video was none other than Pat Benatars "You Better Run"!
The song was her lead single from her 2nd album; 1980's Crimes Of Passion

Benatar later went on to mention that during the filming of the video the director wanted the short-clip to revolve around her as he kept on insisting that she act "more sexy". This enraged Pat and she insisted that the video showcase the whole band and that she wouldn't succumb to any pressure to sell the song with sex. There was a lot of push and pull during the shoot and all of the anger and intensity from her performance was a direct result of this disagreement!

We here at DIDJA KNOW!? are quite frankly glad she stuck to her guns as the legendary video clip holds up better than ever to this day!

Now without further ado, here's the 2nd video EVER aired on MTV! ENJOY

Pay no mind to him. He's just jealous of your ability to transcend posting to a blog.
