anyone got a good info source on siamese dream's production?
i've got to write a short essay on a well-produced song and i'm thinking of using geek usa or silverfuck or something because there's alot going on in there. i'd like to be able to implement facts about stuff like how many guitar overdubs were used and so on. any help would be appreciated, thanks d00ds.

ok if you do geek there is the guitar world articles about it so that could be useful.
theres plenty if you look up butch vig. also there's the bit on vieuphoria which might be worth a look, if just to throw in a comedy part. |

i was thinking about using vieuphoria. or at least throwing in a random, unprovable number of overdubs "this song has 112 totally sweet guitar overdubs" and claiming that jimmy's snare was actually filled with blood.
hey, what the fuck does a mutron biphase do and why was it so hott? |

i like the production on cherub rock the most out of all of the SD songs.
from the solo until the end of the last chorus there are way too many guitar tracks for me to catch up on.. a bunch of sustained notes buried in the mix, countless rhythm tracks, a bunch of three or for note harmonies (not counting the main lead itself), then when it breaks into the main riff again, they all go away.. it is very exciting. |

I'd agree that Billy Corgan's "Guitar Geek USA" columns are one of the only sources I'm aware of with any kind of serious information.

Someone should make this a shirt and get Billy to sign it. So he knows how crazy you are. |
