I can't get into the cauliflower rice or mashed "potatoes." The texture is pretty unpalatable. It's better just roasted, steamed, or sauteed.

I made whole roasted cauliflower when my my sister and her vegan boyfriend were coming over for Thanksgiving as a turkey alternative. Except he didn't end up attending. But the roasted cauliflower head was good, anyway.

I never thought I'd hear a nutritionist say being overweight is OK, but she did. She might have just been encouraging me to be realistic but either way it was nice.
Yeah, since BMI is a pretty crude estimation of health, a lot of people who are healthy and have higher muscle mass will still be categorized in the "overweight" category. Being overweight doesn't necessarily mean one is unhealthy, especially if one is active. After a certain amount of weight, I think it would be a medical anomaly for somebody to have no ill health effects caused by their weight, but a lot of people who are just sitting in the "overweight" category are probably fine.

That's awesome! Having the desire definitely makes it easier. It took me a long time to even not feel like my exercise routine is a chore.

When walking becomes less of a challenge, there's always the option of kinda doing intervals of jogging and walking. Like, jogging for a minute or two, then slowing down to a walk for another minute, then jogging again. This is something else that won't require a lot of equipment, so you won't yet have to contemplate a gym membership.

If you do decide to try lifting, I think gyms are convenient for that, but I'm sure it saves a lot of money in the long term to get your own equipment. I simply do not have the space for a home gym. But hey, maybe you could even build a routine that requires nothing more than some adjustable dumbells and a bench.

That cauliflower pizza also looks good. I would think about substituting foods heavy in simple, refined carbs with cauliflower more often, but cauliflower is worth its weight in gold where I live for some reason (seriously, sometimes it's $6 for the tinniest heads of it).

Cauliflower rice is also nice. I've seen some other interesting cauliflower recipes online (things like making quesadillas with them).

Raw cauliflower as a crudite with hummus was a revelation to me 20 years ago when I was vegan. A few years later I discovered Gobi jalfrezi and aloo Gobi, also very good.

Now the obsession with it has pushed the price up and people make the hummus out of the fucking cauliflower I mean wtf why. and so it has joined the “things that give vixnix negative emotions” set

It's not so negative when roasted with olive oil and garlic, though

I totally empathize with disgust toward grocery prices, however. There is a brand of spicy pickles here that is $12 a jar. They aren't that good. Nothing is that good.

down 150lbs. kinda plateaued a bit. but that's alright. trying to get back into it. been eating a lot of protein bars and stuff, which were good for a while, but now they're just like extra food i don't need. plus, you know, the holidays.

those pizzas were BOGO last week so i have two in my freezer now for when i get a hankering. didn't realize they ever went bogo. less than $5 a pop is not bad.

my hair is thinning a bit, luckily my hair is thick AF but my doctor noticed. also i'm allowed to eat a serving of fruit a day now! been eating oranges and berries mostly. so basically i just can't eat wheat/rice/oatmeal/grains in general at this point
