Default New song - Have Faithe be Merrie!

Aww, Billy is too nice to us. GOD BLESS US EVERY ONE.

Get it here: http://t.opsp.in/18Nf6

Merrie Holidays & Happy New Year!

As a thank you for supporting the Smashing Pumpkins Record Club (SPRC) this year, Billy went digging in the vaults and found this beautiful holiday song called Have Faithe, Be Merrie. We hope you enjoy it!

There is so much in store for you in 2012, from the new album Oceania to the EMI Reissues to special SPRC offers and exclusives. Hint: we've seen songs from Pisces Iscariot, Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness, Adore, pre Gish demos and "the Rubano Tapes" being worked on in the studio. We will make some cool stuff that you can only get at www.smashingpumpkins.com and other fun places online. And last but not least, there's been some talk of a very special tour for next year...

You can love us on Facebook, follow us on Twitter, watch us on YouTubeand hang out with us on Google+ - but where ever you are we will be listening (and responding when we can - so much work to do!).

Here's to next year!

~The Smashing Pumpkins & The SPRC team

I got the impression it had actually been recorded recently. Either way it's a lovely wee song.

pretty good. don't like the vibrato though, but still very thoughtful of him to release this.

No. More like Zeitgeist. It's kind of obvious.

Ugh, who cares. I wouldn't even want to listen to an unheard song from SP's good days at this point. You guys are seriously grossing me out, I was a late bloomer in giving up on the pumpkins, but some of you have been around here much longer than me. Have some DIGNITY.

I don't understand this song at all. Who is this for? Who would enjoy a song like this? It's horrible.

What the fuck is this shit?

It's one thing to give out some random old terrible holiday track, but I'm pretty sure Billy just recorded this in garageband a couple hours ago.

pshh 'vault'

This has to be the worst thank you anyone has ever sent out. It's like listening to a drunk uncle stand up up and start singing songs that only people over 80 remember.

maybe it's new, but the heavy vibrato does not automatically mean that. The pitch of his voice and his verbal articulation are more similar to late-classic Pumpkins than reformed Pumpkins

also the style is just reminiscent of the Adore/Machina acoustic demos

redbreegull - i was asking the same question before i even heard it. whatever it is, it's definitely post-2000. pressed further i'd say post zeitgeist.
i don't gamble but i'd put money on it

it is pretty good. I LIKE IT. nostalgia boys were expecting fuzz pedals on a x-mas song.

My guess would be sometime around the Zeitgiest era....judging by that style of singing I'd guess sometime before Jimmy left.

No, judging by CHRISTMASTIME, I doubt this would be their expectation. It's about as sweet, sappy, and traditional as you can get and it's MCIS era.

why are you trying to judge the date from the "style" of singing?
when have you heard him sing in a folk style lately?

Christmastime is maybe the worst SP song ever. That synth is the same in Owata. C'mon! Much better to have Billy just on acoustic.
