Default final mcis era recordings - the extra bullet b-sides

what if the band decided not to use any covers to fill up the b-sides of bullet for tafh.

which originals do you think they would have used instead? maybe methusela, towers of rabble, speed, one and two?

maybe they would have added proper vocals to knuckles, blast, new waver, dizzle, zoom, phang, the groover...

i doubt they would have used songs that didn't even make the reissue like v8, in the arms of sheep, envelope woman, the tracer, black rider, lucky lad, but who knows.

would you prefer any of those to have made the cut if it meant that they never did the 5 covers?

a night like this is my fav, but i'd take your 5 choices over the covers for sure!

i think i'd pretty much take any 5 of the originals i mentioned over the 5 covers though.

No other originals. Instead, they would have taken all of the songs that are still on the other 4 singles, and spread it thinner to have material for the BWBW single.
So let's say they put Mouth of babes on the BWBW single, instead of the Zero single. and maybe Transformer following that.

I would think that arranging which B-sides are being used was decided all in one go, instead of piece by piece, so they could look at it as a whole.

This isnít entirely true, as all the tracks on the 33 single were actually tracked in Australia during the Mellon Collie tour and were not apart of the sessions for the album, therefore wouldnít have been a part of any pre meditated layout.

the originals you listed definitely would've been preferable to those covers. though clones and you're all i've got tonight were ca$h money.

they released 1979 single and b-sides in jan
recorded most of the thrity-three b-sides in australia in march
released tonight tonight and zero singles with all their b-sides in april
recorded the 6 covers in june
released thirty-three and the tafh box set in november

i get the feeling at some point they realised there were 22 b-sides in total, and wanted to make it 28 to match the mcis album number of tracks, so they decided to record the 6 covers (the 5 on bullet plus my blue heaven) instead of use any other originals that they thought must have not been up to their standard to have released.

Does that mean removing Transformer from Thirty Three and replacing it with something else... it is also a cover.

yeah transformer isn't a cover.

Oh no! I made a mistake on Netphoria. How will I ever live with myself after this.?! I shall lay upon my own sword for being so unworthy of Billy's love.

I always thought it was a cover like My Blue Heaven. Oh well, never really liked the track. Same for My Blue Heaven. Aeroplane Flies High overshadows the tracks, even Thirty Three.. Rarely listen to Transformer as I always found it boring. I'll take any of the Bullet covers over Transformer or My Blue Heaven.

the way you came in so confidently declaring it was a cover... you must be hiding quite the piece in that embryo there, keybaby!

the music on that one isn't really like anything else they did, and even if you don't like that part surely you can acknowledge how good the rest of the song is

hmm

1979 is a tough nut to crack for me. on one hand, it's got some of their best: 1979, strtj, most of cherry. on the other hand, it's got two jamez duds and that godawful i need a luvarh shit.

like i said, a tough nut to crack.
