You'd imagine Billy would do everything in his power to make this an actual reunion with the original lineup. If they're planning for a summer tour, they'll all be in their 50s by then. It's either gonna happen now or it won't happen (or you'll get a watered down version in about ten years with focus on softer, slower stuff). Billy's been through this all before with the Zeitgeist campaign and interest towards SP was on a whole nother level then compared to now. Now that the "back to basics solo album with a name-producer" attempt proved to be a flop for him, this is literally his last card to play. You'd think the vast majority of potential ticket buyers for a Pumpkins tour in 2018 consists of people in their 30s at least. They're not gonna buy this shit after Z, Teargarden, Oceania, Monuments etc.

A lot of people here (me included) have stuck around for what is now close to 20 years waiting for Billy to get his shit together, but you can only be burned so many times. I'll wait till the official announcement comes out, but considering that the now-famous instagram post implied that even James was just a visitor, I'm dangerously close to saying fuck this guy for good.

it's weird this popped up so quickly after james visited the studio. maybe the LA sessions were supposed to be full band at some point but it fell through and they just decided thay can't deal with it all over again. and not to play devil's advocate, but what if d'arcy is just unable to play and delusional about it? all we know about her past 20 years is that she did lots of drugs, had some bad plastic surgeries and is very into horses. playing a stadium/festival tour is serious bizz. if i were them i would probably call it off, but i guess studio time is expensive and they need to make the money back somehow. all in all, it went south fast.

Consequence of Sound posted about it. So it's pretty much confirmed now that D'arcy is out. "SP Camp" must be really ruthless, if she needed some help to get back in the right frame of mind they could have easily gotten her the help. He has no problem literally wasting millions on some stupid wrestling company that will go nowhere so why not help an old friend?
