09/24/2010 - Cain's Ballroom; Tulsa, OK.
Anyone else going to this? in the last 17 years as a pumpkins fan here in Tulsa I've met only like 4 or 5 other hardcore fans so i'm wondering how this one will turn out hell even the screening of if all goes wrong only had 4 people (and one was my mother heh)

Wait you went to an official SP screening of It All Goes Wrong and there were only four people? That is the height of hilarity. Do you happen to have a picture of four people in the theater, glumly watching the show?

oh and my mother who has heard me talking about the pumpkins/billy over the years remarked after watching the whole thing "Has he had a nervous breakdown?" so it was a pretty weird night |

Cain's is actually a pretty cool venue. It's nice and cozy. I can't wait to see the Pumpkins play there. This will actually be my first time to see the band.

My friend said he heard that Billy didn't think it was worth coming here. Where did you hear it? Hopefully he'll change his mind when he finds out how quickly the show sold out and when he sees how nice Cain's is.

Just to be fair...I also went to a screening of IAGW at the Circle Cinema in Tulsa and its seats were at least a third full (maybe 35 to 50 people...its a small theater). So it had multiple showings.

This was my first Pumpkins show. I've been a fan since 1994 and for some reason I always got screwed out of seeing them for one reason or another. It was nothing short of incredible. The mix was perfect, and the sound was good. And that kid can shred on the drums. He's not Jimmy, but he's incredibly talented. The opening band, Cherri Bomb were pretty good but the second band, Pretty Black Chains were pretty terrible. One of the worst live bands I've ever seen. The Pumpkins were terrific and I hope I get to see them again someday. Billy mentioned doing a residency at Cain's, which would be beyond awesome.

He loved Cain's. He kept raving about how he liked it and that if they ever did another residency, that's where they are going to do it.

They also played a bit of Moby Dick and sort of teased Rhinoceros, but barely. The moshers were annoying as fuck, but I shoved one of them as hard as I could which made me feel better. And they didn't play The Fellowship. |
