RHCP have some shitty music for sure but they also have a lot of great stuff. They're a pretty solid band.

How is it possible to hate a track like this? I mean this is sheer pop bliss

My favorites are probably SP1 Corgan, Sufjan Stevens, and Joanna Newsom. Entirely emotional reasons. The fact they write some of my favorite music helps.

But Bjork is also one of my favorites, and she's a better singer. Will Oldham always impresses me too - he's not a traditionally great singer, but unlike Milk-eyed Mender era Joanna Newsom or Billy, he sounds like he has a great command of his voice. The rawness and roughness aren't accidental. It's not that he can hit crazy notes; i's just that he knows how and where to emote.
